Ok for those of us that don't have a bike to ride yet...our minds wander. I was thinking that it would be cool to send a banner to the Yamaha factory in Japan to thank the workers for making this awesome machine for us. I thought that it could be sent around to groups of riders that could sign it or maybe someone smarter than I could figure out how to do digital signatures and have them printed on the banner. Obviously flags would have to be updated to represent all riders homelands and someone wise in the ways of the Japanese would know better how their flag should be displayed on the banner as to not offend them. Anyway just an idea...maybe guilt from my impatience in getting it after all of their heartache. If someone knows of a legit organization that we could individually support as well that would add to the impact. I am sure a few of the artists on this board could come up with a sticker to recognize those involved in the effort.

OK, just an idea...while I wait......

Tim

That is a FANTASTIC idea!!! I think we should get a Tenere type banner made and combo mail it around/pony express it around via Tenere to get as many Tenere owner signatures on it as possible. Once we have it circulated to the regions of N. America we send it to Yamaha corporate. I think that is a fantastic gesture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IN for the N. California leg!!!!!!!!

I like it. Could it hold off until next year and send it from the first annual convention?? If not, it could be mailed around to everyone for signing. It's a big task, but worth taking a shot at. R

Capital idea. I'm in. I'm as tickled with this bike right now as I was with my first one years ago. They deserve our thanks, and I'll be pleased to add my name to personally thanking them.

I think it is a great idea, but it would take forever to send it around to all the list members. It seems that since we are just getting ours now and we want to thank the workers for getting them to us in spite of all the hardships they have endured, we need to get them something as soon as possible.

Isn't there a way that we could all sign an on line thank you to be included with the banner so that we could get it to them while it still means something?

Fred,

That's a good idea... I'm going to my guys (print shop) place on Monday for some other work we are working on ;) Ill talk to him about printing a banner for us..... Lets kinda get a VOTE on what people want it to say, and maybe look like......

Fred, what was your idea on getting the electronic signature for everyone? If we could get those in an Email or some type of file we could probably super impose all the names onto the banner when its being printed...... Would be great............. your thoughts..... anyone chime in...... I'm going afternoon Monday.....

Perhaps Venture might have some ideas on the best way to get a file of names. I suppose a simple method would be to start a thread with those that wanted their names on it, but how to get that superimposed on the banner is the trick.

If I can get the signatures...... I'm sure my guy can do the rest....... Are you talking about just a 'computer print' name...... or are you thinking a real signature..... I was thinking a signature...

Great idea Tim,

I was just thinking about doing something for the poor faceless people in the back rooms, to show our appreciation, or my future appreciation, for what they have done, considering what they have all been through.

Sounds like a great idea to me. 8) :)

Would like to see a note in their native language too, as long as it doesn't end up all "englanese" if you know what I mean.

Cheers
Graham

Digital:
Electronic signature, Name, User name, City, State, Country would be nice to show the Yamaha Factory Workers who we are and where we live. A Places map could be included.

Analog:
A banner made of panels that could be added as they were recieved. Each panel could have as little as one happy YST owners information or as many as a hundred+ happy YST owners information. This could be an ongoing International Thank You Very Much "arigatou gozaimasu".

The Places Map would let them see where their finished products were.

Phil let m eknow if you need help organizing gathering our regions information. I am guessing there are at least 20 Yamaha Super Teneres in our valley.

How about we have their flag on top in the middle, a picture of a tenere under it, a thank you phrase on the bottom and screenname, city, state. country all over?

I support this effort 100% and I also agree with Fred it needs to happen soon while it's still fresh in everyone's mind. We all know as time passes things get dropped to the way side.

Yeah, you're right. Let's get 'er done. But should probably keep it simple, with "it's the thought that counts" theme being front and center. If it gets too elaborate, it gets out of hand and will take a long time.

Having said that, I have no ideas whatsoever as to how to proceed. I think names would do nicely as opposed to signatures. I think a simple statement like "Thanks for your efforts" or something like that would do nicely. It's a mighty fine gesture on its own. Keep it simple. Maybe Yamaha U.S.A and/or Yamaha Japan could expedite? I dunno. R

Great idea im in. I do agree with the keep it simple part. This may wind up being put up in the factory for years so it needs to be of the best quality.
