Re: What is your age?

I turn 68 in September, just a little after we return home to Panama after a 3 month ride thru the US on our new Silver XT1200Z. We'll be departing Chiriqui, Panama on Fri the 10th of March, and plan on reaching Brownsville Tx. in a week. Next we're off to Dearfield Beach, Fl. then up to Atlanta, then West to San Diego, Ca. by way of the Southern Rout, (warmer) then up to Seattle, Wa. by way of the Coast Road and the "Olympian Peninsula". Then down to Mt Rainier, Columbian River Gorge, The Dall's, then HWY 395 into Reno to see my Sons, their Sons, and their Sons. (I've got 5 Great Grand Children) Then my youngest, with his youngest daughter, (14) will ride to the Grand Canyon area with my 54 yr old wife and I on our new "S10". We'll be stopping at a few Yami Dealerships along the way, so is anyone is interested in "showing us your turf", we'd love to meet ya. Let's hook up.

Re: What is your age?

I feel right at home here. I turn 62 this May. I have been riding dirt bikes and farm bikes for years , but only started road riding four years ago.
Have tried a few road bikes but once I sat on the S10 and went for a blast I knew it was the bike to keep.
I've had it for five months now and have just over 6000 Ks on it but plan to do more long trips up and down the east coast of Oz this autumn.

Just waiting for the hay making season to slow down then I'm off

I'll be 54 when the Super Tenere gets here. I have been riding forever. My first MX race was in 1972 and I still practice motocross all the time. This is me on the YZ125.

Sounds like I might have to change that age of 54 to maybe 55 or 56 now. JULY Excuse me while I go scream in the corner.

The older we get the wiser we become. Therefore, we must have picked an excellent choice in motorcycles.

At a month away from 62 I do not consider 61 an "old guy" That is left for those 85 and older. I also reserve the right to change that statement when I am 85

Re: What is your age?

I am 15 going on 53. I hope to still be 53 when mine gets here.

Never rode much dirt beyond the obligatory mini bike. Bought my first bike in April of 1977. The Super Tenere will be my 6th brand new Yamaha. I have been riding more the last 5 years and while i will and do routinely take my FJR on gravel and two track, I don't like the way it leaves my back door puckered up.

Looking forward to the new bike!

Re: What is your age?

My guess the prominent age group represented is because old goats like me ( almost 56 ) don't care as much about image as we do about function. Probably why I have a WR250R and an FZ as well. All do exactly what I want them to. But no doubt not as image related as some other bikes. Frankly, I don't really want to be noticed all that much, as I'm usually riding a little more briskly than posted signs would recommend. I prefer to remain unnoticed... ;)

Re: What is your age?

I checked the "Dirt" box as I will be 71 in June. Started riding in 1958 while in the Navy. I tell all my friends that I'm a 35 year old brain trapped in an aging body. :D

I'll be 65 in August, but most people say I don't look a day over 64 and a half. R

Re: What is your age?

53 here. Everyone says aren't you too old to do that. Noooo!! You do it as long as you can. I rode in Colorado 2 years ago and Jack Penton rode also at 83. There were a total of twelve Dirt Bike riders in the 70-85 year old range. I have another friend that 84 and 4 years ago they told him he'd never ride again. They were going to take him and fit him for a wheelchair and he said "B___ S___" He went through re-hab, had to take his drivers test over, his motorcycle test over and he's back riding again.

Let's see, last year at 42 I learned the secret to the universe. This year at 43 I drive like Richard Petty. Who knows what will happen come August when I turn 44 and I'm out on my S10!
