Jason, very happy to hear that Bazzaz will be offering some solutions for the Tenere. I wish I was a little closer, I would offer mine up. I willl be looking forward to what you come up with.

BTW - I designed the new Korrvu Packaging you guys just started using for your modules. I hope you are liking it.

haha, nice! Yeah, the new packaging is sick; way better than the old stuff.

Cool, glad you like it. Looking forward to what you come up with. Mine is running PCV with Autotune, Akra Slip-on, Arrow catless headers, K&N filter. A module that would eliminate restrictions at a reasonable cost would be great.

I am the oddball out as I would be interested in the module to get full power in the first 3 gears in Sport mode, but will remain stock exhaust and I like the TC1 and TC2 as they are.

I think most people are looking for what your looking for... Only changed in (S) in first three.... Been talking with people, looks like "Italy" going into the ECM and "finding" the encrypted software is the only way...

Bazzaz - when you're digging into the ecu, do you think there might be a way to selectively turn off ABS? i.e. turn off rear only, leaving the front active. This to me would be the best of both worlds for off road - leaving the excellent front abs operational but with the option of locking the rear to get the bike turned in a hurry if needed.

Just rolled it into the shop ::013::

We don't hack the ECU, we make a piggy back system that trick the ECU so to speak. This way the system can be removed and the bike is right back to stock if need be.

So is it possible to "trick" the throttle position signal sent to the throttle bodies to effectively override the restrictions in lower gears, or are you looking to develop a unit that only modifies the fuel map?

Either way I'm looking forward to see what you come up with.

My guess is they are doing just a fuel map, but having more choices than just Dynojet will be cool.

I think trying to fool the fly by wire throttle is not a good idea because we have TCS interaction with that system.

We are hoping to come up with something that will lift the power restrictions.

How are things progressing after 1 month? ::017::

Yamaha uses the ratio of wheel speed vs crank speed to determine what gear the bike is in. Because of this, there was no way we could trick the ECU into thinking it was in a different gear, and there by lift the power restrictions, without screwing up the displayed speed. And while we may have been able to design something that would have successfully lifted the restrictions, we can't sell a product that would render the speedo inaccurate; there's a whole bunch of liability issues there that we don't want to mess with. We did see some nice power gains on the dyno though, just from adjusting the fuel.

Between the stock and Slip-on runs I actually did two things, I installed the slip-on Akra exhaust and adjusted the air bleed screws to allow more air into the throttle bodies as recommended by Jaxson.

thanks for the feedback - weird how significantly the torque drops off after 6000rpm....

Thanks for sharing this! ::008:: At what AFR did you see the highest power? I find the graphs a bit hard to read.

Eh, it's pretty normal for a bike's torque curve to noticeably drop off after peak torque. The bikes that seem to vary the least are the Ducati Monsters, which have fairly consistent torque curves; as seen below

then you have other parallel twins like the Kawasaki ER-6N which drop off after peak:

Inline 4's have much more dramatic torque curves, as seen with the 2012 CBR1000RR:

And then there are the big v-twins like the Suzuki M109, who's torque is all at the beginning and tapers off from there:

sorry, I'm the idjit! :'( I see now that the torque axis does not start at zero ::008::
