Took 1190 KTM for a ride last summer, nice bike but I think it puts out a lot less horse power than KTM claims.

I'm guessing that it all depends on where that horsepower is measured at. Most manufacturers, at least cars, measure it at the crankshaft; highest output reading. But there is parasitic loss through the powertrain. Decades ago I read that chain transmits 98% of the power, while shaft only transmits 75%. The Tenere has more power that I expected, and sometimes more than I need. Everybody has their priorities; nobody is MAKING anybody ride the Tenere.
