I put new EBC HH pads on in California but I am sure they have some oil on them. So new brake pads after the seals are replaced... or a can of Brakleen if new pads cannot be sourced. Yes, Thursday would be better for me. Is Jay in Boise?

Question? I have camping gear and all. But food? I plan on buying freeze dried food. What are you guys going to be doing? How many days are we planning on? Should I buy enough for a week or two or 3 days and replenish as needed?

Depending on your desired speed its about an 8 day trail... I believe there are food stops along the way (but not dried food)..... Ive not ridden this BDR before, but I have ridden several others. Its a total mixed bag on what food you're able to eat or pick up along the way. Clean water tends to be harder to come by than food IMOP. Looking to arrive in Jarbidge on the 27th... leave Jarbidge on the 28th heading north.....

If you have the room pack for both. A water filter is a smart move. Freeze dried foods are great because they are light and If not fully used can be used on other ventures. There are small stores at the fuel stops and places to get hot food but spendy, but what isn't these days!

Hey Guy, that's great news that you're joining us. Is there anything I can bring you from the east?

I have a 3L Camelbak and a filter for water as required. I'm bringing about 4 days worth of freeze dried, but intend to forage for fresh food (from the stores) as much as I can.

I'm heading out tomorrow...See you guys in a few days

No, I have what I need. I don't have a water filter but bringing water along or refilling when we hit stores should suffice.

Two filters for your group should be plenty. Its been clear the past couple days down here so there's hoping the rain we got, and we may get a bit more tonight, has put a hurt on the fires. It will help with the dust for sure. I envy you guys and would be all over it but have a couple commitments next week I can't get out of. Maybe next year on the WYBDR!!!

I just made a reservation at the Outdoor Inn in Jarbridge for Friday night and check out Saturday. Should I move that to Sunday night and check out Monday? I have a place to stay in Boise for free. That's only 4 hrs from Jarbridge. Wymbly when are you planning on Rolling in? Do you have a place to stay? I don't mind splitting motel cost. I don't snore as I have a Cpap machine! I also have earplugs.

I’ll think we are camping but depends when we roll in. I bet we get there about 2-3pm

It is with a very sad countenance that I am announcing that I will be going straight home. I have a daughter who had a summer job that had her flying around the country all summer and she wasn't home. She is leaving for a job in Texas the first week in September. She was quite upset when she found out that I wasn't going to be home due to the BDR. I thought we were leaving Saturday morning and I could get home with a day or two to spare but now that is not the case.
But!!! I am definitely up for another one next year. It is not normally my habit to commit to things and then have to change plans. I definitely wanted to meet you guys and head north.
I want to thank SpudBob publicly for all the help he has given me and even found a shop and then talked to them long enough to have them make time to fix my fork seals. Hopefully I can cancel my Friday reservation at the Outdoor Inn in Jarbridge for Friday night. If not one of you are more than welcome to it on me! Tabasco, maybe I can stop by on my way down to Fredericksburg in the fall when I visit my daughter. SpudBob I know I will be out in Rexburg visiting in the spring. I'll make it a point to come over to your side of the state and ride some roads with you. Wymbly, maybe I can see you if I do a loop around Lake Superior. I hope the weather is perfect for you guys. The forecasts I have been looking at show that it should be perfect the whole week. Sigh...
With much regret,
Guy

I kinda did a little discovery route today. I followed a gravel road 20 or so miles towards a Canyon until it beccame a rough side by side trail... had water crossings too! You guys have fun. I'm in Red Lodge tonight but tomorrow I am going to try to get out and on the road early to try and get toThe Devil's Tower then down through the Needles.

Im lik'n that custom backrest!!! Got snowed on HARD on Beartooth Pass in late August of 1968 as a kid on a family trip!!!
It only works if I have my water bladder on and I lean way back. It will be interesting to see how that Tractionator Adventure holds out on the front by the time I get home. It has 4200 on it right now. Looking good. Outside knobs are wearing some as I am cornering pretty hard with it. The Tractionator GPS on the back has 5,000. And it still looks almost new. These MotoZ Tractionator tires have really impressed me. Did you get more rain since we talked?

We did wake to thunder showers yesterday morning but they disappeared after an hour or so. Showers, of any kind, are rare in Southwest Idaho in the Summer. I will say this the Payette River near my house has been running dirty for several days. That's a sure sign that the mountains got a good washing down last week. Hopefully the roads will be O.K. for those guys-I think they will be fine. Should be minimal dust. It can really be a problem when group riding on the dirt roads here in late Summer. The guy at the front is fine but everybody else eats dust unless there is some major spacing.
