Very nice looking bike! Going back to your earlier question about the old and new tank protectors....I like the new ones because they seem to bridge the gap between the side panels and the seat, making the panels, tank and seat look like one contiguous shape. Also seems to hide the gap between the lower part of the tank and the side panels. Somewhat subtle, maybe, but I can tell the difference.

I think the stickers are nearly done, you could ask to cescausio@motosausio.com

The skid plate needs more time but in this mail they can give you some information acd_cedric@recamlaser.com

Hope you make some pressure to this guys and they finish the products, they are too busy ::) ::)
I contacted them and they said 15 days or so. Problem is, I don't speak spanish very well to navigate their site to find them.....

I guess you mean the tank protectors. If you already talked with Ausió don’t worry, when the sitckers are ready they will tell you, few days ago they told me the order was done to the manufacturer so it won’t be long.
But you can send them an email, (cescausio@motosausio.com) they do speak English and will answer you. They are serious people.
If not, tell me and I push them. ::002::

Thans! But too late.
We decided the old ones. I quite like the point shape in the top end but basically they are easier to apply.

We choose this ones

Re: Super Ténéré 1200 OFF ROAD preparations and experiences thread.

Finally I went to a short but intense “magic button” test.
The problem is I tried the bike with the switch and the new K&N filter, so the bike also “breath” better (the old filter was quite dirty), that means they where two combined factors.

I didn’t have much time so the test was only off road, I couldn’t say is a huge difference but it is. In low revs the bike seems to be more powerful, instant response, really exiting….GREAT! ::012::
I must try it better, with this switch on I don’t know if there is any difference between the T and S mode. Also it seems that it only works in the three first gears, I didn’t experienced that in this short test.
I’m very happy but really concerned about how little the rear tires are going to last, this is going to be very expensive :(… but what a fun ::26:: ::008::

they got back to me promptly. No worries there. But that was two weeks ago and they stated 15 days or so. I will check the website again and see if I can hunt the tank protectors down.

I've been with him this afternoon testing my bike in the dynojet and he said the protectors are ordered to the factory so it won`t be long. I'm also waiting for my new ones.

Re: Super Ténéré 1200 OFF ROAD preparations and experiences thread.

Hi guys I’ve just pick my bike to the Dynojet to test the clutch magic switch. I'm happy, the feeling I had yesterday in the off road test where right. :clap

Unfortunately I have the graphics in a PDF and don’t know hot to show it in the web, if anybody know how to convert it in a JPG….

We measured the power only in 3rd and 4th gear.

These are the answers to the most common questions:

1. What is the difference between the S and T mode in the standard bike?
I’ve read in several magazines that in a standard Super Tenere the power in S and T modes are the same but different response: WRONG.
I was surprised the big difference between them: the graphic since 5000 rpm are nearly the same but in 4th gear the S mode reach 16 HP more than the T mode and in 3rd the difference is 20 HP.

2. Is the switch working in all gears?
No. In 4th (and probably in 5th and 6th) gear there is no difference between the switch on and off but in 3rd (and assume in 1st and 2nd) in low revs there is about 5 HP difference with the standard bike and increase to 10HP in a middle range. So the bike response is much immediate in low and medium revs but only in the 3 first gears.

3. Is the switch increasing the bike power?
No difference in maximum power. Once you increase the revs the power become the same than in S mode in a standard bike.

4. Is still working the S & T mode?
No. S and T mode became the same with the switch on

So, there is a very good improve for a low price.
I did a test on road, accelerating in 2nd with the switch on the traction control became mad. With the switch off in the same road the traction control doesn’t work.
In off road the bike is a beast, really really fun. I recommend you. ::008::

Nice work! There is a thread called 'california dyno results' which shows the same thing about T-mode. The throttle bodies don't open as far as S-mode. With a roll-on acceleration in S and T-mode, you can actually count the difference in your head it is so large!

This graphic in 3rd is better. Is in RPM and not in speed

Am I reading this right... T-Mode with the clutch shorted out-performs S-Mode with the clutch shorted?

Or are the variations between the two so slight it could be an anomaly?

Cool stuff either way - thanks!

I do believe the clutch "shorted out" nullifies the T vs S mode.

now...lets see whose bike catches fire first >:D

Certainly looks like there is much more horsepower available at lower RPMs and little difference on the top end expect for T mode with no jumper. Very congruent with my seat of the pants.

Today I took the bike to Barcelona. Was my first time riding in town with the clutch switch. The torque is so huge than finally I put the bike in the standard mode or my arms will be longer… ???
In a busy town and this switch I felt the bike too sharp but in open roads is great! ::012::

My new project
I’ve found a used mudguard in ebay and decided try to change the bike rear. I don’t like much the big rear mudguard, very road bike look.
So I cut it and now I'm looking how to fix the plate and turn signals but more or less this is going to be from this:

To this

Form this

Re: Super Ténéré 1200 OFF ROAD preparations and experiences thread.

Finally I’ve finished the modded rear of the bike. It gives me much more work than I expected but I like the result.
The led OEM blinkers didn’t fit with the dual exhaust so I fix some Rizoma, small and bright led ones.
The legislation in Spain is a bit confuse about the number plate size. You can use a small plate for enduro bikes, I hope I can convince the police the S10 is a enduro bike if they stop me… but I can also put the big plate.
I’m curious to see what is going to happen with lot of mud… I keep the original mudguard in case…
