What in PA you cannot get a fifth of Jack at your local 7-11?
I am a frequent visitor to PA, and I can tell you that state does have some funky, antiquated liquor laws (not that I can be too critical, coming from Ontario, home to some of the most archaic liquor laws in North America.) :)

That's not as bad as going to Kentucky (Burbon State) there are several counties that are Dry ???
Not that I have anything against Kentucky. Fantastic riding there.

True dat'. In Kentucky, Christian County is wet, Bourbon County is dry.

EDIT: Bourbon county is wet after all. Woohoo! My mistake.

You can always tell when riding when you get to a wet/dry county line....liquor stores!

Well, I guess I'm in for the 3rd time....

Saw some discussion on buying liquor....word to the wise; there is a 7/11 selling beer and some bottled nearby...but don't expect to buy yourself a good bottle of bourbon. Jack they sell, but what good KY boy would choose Jack over a good bourbon?....and the pix that Mark posts of me with a bottle of Jack were photo-shopped.

I never doubted your return. Who else could narrate the video? ::008::

The unofficial headcount has passed the 100 mark. I don't think we made it to that count until just before the event last year. Looking like this year will be another excellent opportunity to get to know your fellow adventure bike rider.

Well If everybody else is committing I will to. Second year, Grate place to ride and I hate to say it but it gets me out of Louisville for the Kentucky derby. last year I think it took us 800 miles to get from Louisville to Romney. No telling what it will be this year hopefully longer. ::021::

Smoke Hole Road is one of the local menu options; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5f-ll4IR-8

I am hoping to do a scenic ride through central PA on Thursday on the way to Romney.

And hope to be there to ride Friday and Saturday.
Yep, Smoke Hole is a blast. One that Trevor led us on the first year of this event. The route he led (called 2012 DCStrom Route) is in this thread: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=10081.msg182918#msg182918

It's a very nice ride.

Really looking forward to this event.
Maybe I can hook up with you Kentucky boys on the way in. I plan to take all week off so my schedule is wide open.

Had a good talk with Larry today. New announcements:

-) Suzuki will be bringing the big demo tractor trailer to Romney on Friday and Saturday. This is their normal demo truck, so you should be able to ride anything they normally have on board.

-) The prize for the charity raffle will be a GoPro Hero 4 Silver camera. Please feel free buy lots of tickets. We definitely want to beat our total from last year. 100% of proceeds from ticket sales go to the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind.

-) More - more showers (with real doors), more toilets, more fire rings

-) Pick up - Romney will keep someone on standby in the event of a bike breakdown or some other event that causes the bike to be unrideable.

-) Mechanic will be on site until 5pm on Saturday.

Larry was sounding confident they have everything on track for another great year. As he told me, this has become their favorite event.

All of these announcements have been posted to the General Announcements post (#2) on this thread.

Hal right? Keep an eye on the thread to see when we're headed to Romney. Probably be Thursday but don't have any idea on the route.
