Let me know what you need. I have a full set and a lower bash frame w/skid plate available in the current order. I also have a pair of light brackets available at the moment.

The current order went to shipping today in South Africa. At this point I do still have one full set of Rumbux Crash bars available. This is the three piece set with upper hoop/side protection, lower bash frame w/lower side protection, and the skid plate that bolts to the lower bash frame. $750 gets it on your door step.

I can start accepting orders for the next batch at any time. I would take all your info, but no charges will be run until we reach the minimum level of 5 sets, and are ready to initiate the new order. Each person gets an email notification when their card is run, so you will know when that happens.

Everyone in the current order has had their bars shipped. Most will either have them already or should by Wed the 28th. I know there are a couple of guys that missed out on this one, so let me know and we can start working on the next order. Five is the minimum for things to cost out for me.

Thank you to all the customers!

Thanks Kook! I appreciate your business. ::008::

I am starting to get interest for a new order, so if you're thinking about the Rumbux, now is the time to get the ball rolling and get in on the next order. As stated before, lead time on Rumbux orders is 4-8 weeks, so missing out on an order puts you a bit farther behind the curve than average for things like this. The import process is full of potential delays and we are going to be in the Christmas window on this next order, so I would expect deliver to be in Jan if we get to the 5 person minimum soon and can kick off the order process.

Thank you very much to all the people that have ordered Rumbux bars so far. At the moment, pricing remains the same at $750 for the full set and $450 for the Lower w/Skid plate only, but there may be an increase for 2013.

Really like my Rumbux too! BTW, there is a nationwide shortage of foam packaging wrap. Something about some guy in Utah using it all up to ship powder coated bent tubes. :D

Should have put this up before. I'm in the process of re-writing the Rumbux instructions and will see if I can link to them as well. PM me if you want a copy.

Torque spec info:

The 8mm oem drop guard bolts are 8.7 ft/lbs.

The 10mm rear side stand bolt is 46 ft/lbs. (rear throttle side mount)

The 8mm rear exhaust bracket bolt is 14 ft/lbs, (rear clutch side mount).

The center long bolt that holds the dash on, where the flat bar goes
is 11 ft/lbs

The two bolts between the upper and lower Rumbux are nylocks, so just
get them tight, no need to go overboard there. Same for the small 6mm
bolts and nuts on the front end of the flat bar.

I'd recommend using blue (242) loctite or equivalent on the bolts.
(not on the nylock ones!!)

Tip: When you're putting the lower bar on, leave the rear bolt out on
the oem tip over guards, as you'll just be pulling that out again to
mount the upper bars.

Other than the one bolt at 46 ft/lbs, they torque values are mostly to
prevent you from over tightening things. That should tell you that
they are not critical. If your torque wrench doesn't go down that
far, don't sweat it, just snug them up, then give a small extra pull,
like 1/8 of a turn or less and you'll be fine.

I now have pdf files of the Rumbux Instructions if anyone loses their copy or wants it in electronic form. PM me if you want them.

I am also starting to build the next order. One on board so far, need 5 to place the order with Rumbux, so now is the time to get in on this order. Looking at the normal 4-8 weeks from when the order is placed with Rumbux to when you have the crash bars on your doorstep.

As always, if you have questions, feel free to PM, call or post here.

A couple of things to announce:

From Rumbux

Product News (Super Ten)

We have upgraded the bash plate on the Super Ten from a 3mm to a 4.5mm aluminium. We had x2 riders on the roof of Africa trail doing a bit of extreme riding who managed to damage their engine sumps. This is the first time in 2.5 years history of the product. We don’t like such news, that’s why we upgraded. The 3mm bash plate will be discontinued.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is also a price increase from Rumbux starting in Feb. I had planned to increase my prices $25 across the board to attempt to get to the point where I can place orders and maintain stock, starting in Jan. Prices will remain the same if we can get the next order going before Feb 1st. Then I will have to raise my pricing.

Currently there is one person on board for the next order, we need 5 to make the shipping work, so if you're on the fence, now is the time to jump in.

Any reason you can see to get the upgraded 4.5mm plate parts to replace 3mm ones we already have? And if so, how much is RumBux gonna' charge folks for the plate section upgrades for those who already purchased the earlier skid plate set-up?

I wouldn't figure it would be much since that's just flat plate pieces, and the real cost is the bending and welding labor of the cage section...

Thanks!

Dallara

If you're not doing some truly epic adventure ride, or riding hard enough to be hitting the skid plate on a regular basis, I wouldn't be inclined to upgrade. I can bring the new 4.5 mm plate in for $85, but will have to investigate shipping costs for just the plate. So $85+ local shipping from UT to the customer.

What kills the pricing on the full sets has always been the shipping size. Just the flat plate should not be too bad and will probably go USPS Priority Mail at a reasonable cost, but it's still fits a special class since it's not flexible and over 12" long. I may be able to just wrap it in bubble wrap and mail it that way, which I will investigate when the next order arrives.

I was going to place an order today, but got tied up with a customer issue. Got that sorted, so will be placing an order tomorrow. If you want in on the current order, JUMP! I will be available after noon tomorrow. Have a Dr. appointment in the morning.

Woohoo - Great News!!! I am in on this order that Eric is about to process.

It can't be soon enough! I am SOOOO very ready to get some crash protection on the bike. Now that I got the OEM "slicks" off the SuperTen and spooned on some fresh K60's - it is all I can do to not go exploring where I should not be going without crash protection. Squeeked by last weekend without a mishap but I fear that I am only pushing my luck. I only hope that my self-restraint can match the continued wait time for the crash guards to arrive.

Eric,

If I understand your above post correctly (re: new 4.5mm plate), nothing else has changed about the system, correct?

I know I'm probably too late to get-in on the current order. However, I might like to upgrade, at some point.

Thanks...

You are correct, the only change I am aware of is the thicker skid plate, which is now standard for Rumbux systems for the Super Ten. The current order was placed last week, but I expect the invoice on Monday. It will create a need to have the invoice re-done, but that should not slow the process of the order any. Call me if you want to order the thicker skid plate and we can get that added to the current order, due ~the beginning of March.

At this point the current order is final. I do have one extra full 3-piece set coming, and a 4.5 mm skid plate that is not spoken for. I ordered the skid plate to compare for myself, but don't necessarily plan on installing it on my bike.

Right now I have the pro forma invoice, but am waiting on the pitifully slow Wells Fargo to acknowledge funds transfer from the CC payments.

Thank you everyone that placed an order. You will receive an email update once I've been able to take the next step.

Eric,

If you happen to remember this, when you try that 4.5 plate on your ride, let me know if I'm gonna' have to score some new hardware (for the added plate thickness).

I (briefly) looked at my current bolts, last night. And, it appears that they have enough meat on 'em. But, if you find differently (and happen to recall this post), let me know.

Thanks...

J.J.

EDIT- By the way, I did receive your order confirmation e-mails. Thank you.
