I think what they are saying is it removes the restriction in all 1-2-3rd gears but now the bike will start in gear where as before you had to pull in the clutch to start in gear. Kind of defeating a safety feature. I'm going to try making the splice tonite and try the bike tomorrow. I'll try going back and forth between the splice and back to the original switch to see if I can feel any seat of the pants difference. ::001::

Well I can tell you this, with TC1 & TC2 I had a solid yellow TCS light in 1,2 & 3rd gear. I turned off the TC and I was looking for a seat belt and wheelie bars after that.

I also used way less clutching taking off :) I will test it in the heat of the day to see if the stumble or cough is gone but right now I am a happy camper ::008:: ::008:: ::008::.

I will go for a on/off switch setup for this.

I am old school and was riding way before all this safety switch stuff. All that does is make people get lazy and not do the right thing in the first place. They try to remove stupid due to lawsuits.
I don't know about you but I don't need a sticker on my lawn mower telling me not to put my hand in the blade area when running. ::025::

Ok,,,, I wasn't really gonna try this, but with you saying it's good, I'm gonna give it a try.
What mods do you have on your bike?

thanks for this Dinx! ::026::

Now, I wonder if this works......?
If it does, a relay powered by the headlight should work perfectly, or a separate switch on the handle bars... Hmmmmm
I like your Idea with a relay operating it in the light circuit and a switch for off just to have that option in case mileage is effected on a long haul.

I let friends I trust ride my bike from time to time and a relay would be a good thing. A lot of folks bank on the safety features now days. I think two of them are going to get Tenere's now after riding mine.

OK. I made the connection and gave Big Blue a quick blast. Hard to tell really. It may have felt smoother but I'm not sure. Didn't switch it back yet. I'll give it more of a test on Saturday. From what I gather, those wires shouldn't do anything except, Disallow Starting in Gear without the Clutch In. ::024::

I have read on OTHER bikes that the clutch/neutral interlock circuit also controls a start-up ignition/fuel mode. Maybe there is truth to that and Tenere is similar. Maybe its placebo. Without a dyno, one may never know for sure.

You may be right. I have always felt my bike was way on the lean side and some maybe more than others. If this does increase the fuel to air that would explain why I felt the difference that I did on mine. The throttle responds the way it should now and makes it more easy to ride.
I have felt a delay or the response was just not right from day one. It feels spot on now. I have more power off the bottom and it pulls stronger and I am using less clutch work taking off. With a blip of the throttle the front lifts with ease now.

I think I will be replacing rear tires more often. :(

It would be nice if you could figure out a way to use the factory map switch to control a relay. So when its in T its off (Restricted) and then switch it to S and its On (Un-Restricted). Not sure if there is a wire off the ECU that you can tap into to trigger a relay or not.

I did the clutch-bypass before I went on an 8 block Wal-mart run. When I fired it up, I noticed it never settled into the 1100RPM range, even after waiting a minute to see if that would drop it down. I realize I need a lot longer run to see how it really works...I never got high up in the RPM's of third to really see for sure

It might sound anecdotal, but I noticed I didn't have to feather the clutch as much either from a stop. I was riding two-up at the time, too, and I've always needed to do that.

Your dyno run is going to be the true test...you've got about $450 bucks per person who are on the fence on the ECU flash wondering if this works. No pressure ;)

I did have major doubts myself but this morning I checked it out the ONLY correct way and took her to the local drag track where the restrictions shows out. Well .F.M.D it has gone the throttle response is now 1 to 1 with throttle input not I dial 100% and the ECU says no you only need 47% type of thing.

My S10 was already running really well with the PC.V and Autotune ,Arrow Headers, Leo Vince Can and DNA filter so the improvement was Good but the bike was already much improved over stock.

Cheers Rick

Installed a on/off switch pushbutton over a rocker switch for the jumper only because I already had one.

Talked to Jaxon today and he said he noticed the difference with the ECU flash most in T mode. I felt the same thing as he did with mine jumpered in T-mode today. The stumble is also gone in S mode.

Now I have a flash to pass pushbutton. ::025::
