Also, in my GPS checks for speed and highway mileage marker checks for miles, I agree with the 6% correction for speed, maybe a bit more, but mileage checks have only looked like 2% correction. You may have gone further than 238 miles.
I have the SpeedDRD set to 6.1% correction. The 238 indicated should be about 14 more or 252 miles if the ODO was on before I put the SpeedDRD on. I did have my windscreen (oversize) set to aggressive or more upright than normal.

Have them do a 6th gear roll on. We can compare with the 5th gear and see if there is a limit in 6th.

Ok, at least this will prove it in the North American bikes, yes?

Is this humor? Why would there be a limit in 6th?

It's a free pull.. What would you like to do on the last one?
And yes, some bikes have had the top end limited from what i have read.

Are we really interested in whether or not the S10 has a limited top speed? I never read anything about that, and I've had my S10 very close to max rpm in 6th (doing 224 km/h on the tach) so I have no reason to suspect it is limted in topspeed.

I would be more interesed in a run in 4th gear in S mode to verify that 4th gear in S mode is not restricted white 4th gear in T mode is restricted. All information at hand seems to indicate that only gears 1-3 in S mode are resticted whilst gears 1-4 in T mode are restricted. I would like to know this from 1st hand.

That also sounds good to me.. But you must remember, the EU bikes do not have the same ECU that ours do. So what you can do with yours do not mean ours will react the same way.

All ECU's are the same in this respect.

How are you certain of that? I have not read anything that would suggest that.

I spoke my dealer. According to him all ECU's have the same spec's, except for things like immobilizer. The restrictions should be identical.

Bad news. Wasted two hours today with the stinking HD dealer for my dyno. Had to reschedule the dyno pull for Saturday at 8:30am. They already had a bike on the dyno for three hours tuning it and would not take it off until it was done eventhough I had an appointment for today!
Waited around for an hour and they said who knows when, so...

No one is more disappointed than me but Saturday will come quickly. Sorry ALL, til Saturday.

Correct, mostly those are supersport bikes limited to 299 as this was a gentlemens agreement in Europe to mot produces bikes that drove faster than 299 km/h.

Some touring bikes like the Kawasaki 1400GTR also have a limited top to prevent highspeed instability due to side cases, etc.

I have not ready anything about the S10 on this. I'm sure that I now (after the Diapason flash) reach max rpms in 6th gear, so when the weather clears up I'll give it a go and see if top speed is limited. As I've already reached 224 on the tacho, I'm wondering.... do we really need more...? ::26::

Thats a bummer man, sorry to hear. I have an appointment at Mammoth Motorsports for Friday AM, hopefully will go smoother than yours :)

Mine's slightly more modded with the arrow headers and PCV w/AT, so will be fun to compare torque curves.

Those mods are not so slight my friend. But more data the better though.

Can already hear the pissing and moaning over sae smoothing, humidity differences, elevation, etc.... ::017:: hopefully there is some consistency from the Dyno results already published, ie. Cycleworld and MCN.

Dyno results show be presented in 'SAE Corrected' values, as per the SAE J1349 standard. This allows comparisons between days/locations (usually).

See here for some more info: http://www.land-and-sea.com/dyno-tech-talk/corrected-horsepower.htm

The only thing that kept those leather Harley boys from throwing me and my Yamaha out the door was my money (and being 6'4" 230 lbs) so I don't think I will be demanding my results are presented according to the SAE J1349 standard.

I recall getting my road king Dyno there and it was not SAE on the top right of the Dyno print. We can have mucho arguments fighting over the errant techniques and data no doubt. ::017::

I'm sure we all could argue about something. lol Whatever we get from your runs, is more than we had before, so to speak.
I'll be glad to see the results.

Make sure you get a good graph of the 3500 - 5000RPM range as this is the primary area of interest. This is where the mod really pays off.
