You may want to hold off on that. Our return policy on previously installed items is pretty clear. If there are any installation marks on them, you own them. Keep in mind you bought them for a regular S10 and not the ES model. So we didn't sell them to you for the ES therefore we're not at fault. I don't want to sound so negative. I just want help protect you from being stuck with something that won't work on your bike.

Kev

Actually, they've been sitting in a box since I got them still unopened. Your phone guy gave me an RMA to send them back, since they are new and unused, but I tried them and they fit without a problem. I'm keeping them. ::008::

So, you might want to let your guys know that the SW Motech racks will fit the 2014 ES. I zip tied in place to take pics but as you can see there's plenty of clearance. The only thing in the way is the rear red reflector on the license plate bracket, which can easily be moved out of the way. I'm going to paint the silver brackets - by the passenger arm rests - in black and hang my panniers!

I have the SW-M Trax bags and use a helmet lock mounted to the underside of my rear rack to secure my helmet.

You can use the Givi Trekker panniers mounted to the SW Motech Evo (quick release) mounts. They'll fit a helmet.

I'm going to keep posting until all of this information is clear as a bone.

The SW Motech carriers are not compatible with the Givi Outback Trekkers. Aparently they work with the Givi Monokey lineup, but that is not what I am after.

So.............as of this posting..........5/8/2014, my only hope is if Givi come up with the proper mounts for the Tenere ES to fit with their Trekker Outback cases.

The Givi Monokey and Trekker use the same mounting system: 2 mushrooms at the back, and a tongue at the front. I have a Givi Trekker case that I use on another bike and they will mount to the SW Motech racks if I mount the Givi mounts to the pre-drilled holes on them. The Givi Monolock mounting system is different and not compatible with the Monokey / Trekker mounts.

Kevin from Twisted throttle is the one that gave me that information and he is active on this board, so maybe he will chime in. I was willing to order and called them, but got the information that I posted above.

The new version of the Trekkers - the Outbacks, now use a givi cam setup which is different than the monokey and those won't work with the ES.

Thank you for the visual confirmation! I will now go from 90% certain to 100%. I will also educate our phone team so that they can give y'all a firm answer when you call.

Hey Mingo - PM me your email address, phone number and a shipping address and shirt size. I'd like to send you a tee as a simple thank you.

To confirm what rmarble1 and Mellow say - The Trekker OUTBACK (aluminum case) uses a different mounting system than the Trekker (plastic case with faux aluminum look) The plastic case uses the tried and true Givi Monokey attachment system. The aluminum case uses a new Givi mounting system they refer to as the CAM system. As of right now, there are only about 10 bikes I am aware of that you can put the Trekker Outback cases on.

Thanks Kev,
I will finish the installation this afternoon and post some pics of the SW Motech racks all mounted up. Thanks for the T=shirt offer.

SW Motech racks mounted on '14 ES. The racks are easily and quickly removable and can accomodate Givi, Trax and other brands of panniers. I had to remove the rear red side reflectors off the license plate bracket. I will fabricate a small bracket to mount them a little higher.

and when removed, the mounts are virtually invisible

I mounted my Micatech V2 cases to the SW Motech racks. I had used them on a couple of previous bikes (GS) Here's a few pics. So anything that mounts to SW Motech racks: Trax, Givi, etc. will fit the '14 ES and non ES.

Quick release mounts:

Thanks for this thread. I was able to finally get some side racks for my new 14 ES and have confidence that they actually work.

Long thread, but that is what happens sometimes when you are an early-adopter of technology like the '14 ES. Phone confirmation yesterday 6/27/2014 that the parts to mount the Givi Outbacks are now in production and hopefully available to us 'amuricuns' here in the near future.

Just to recap, I'm wanting the biggest bags I can get and a width to accommodate a full size helmet inside.

Thanks to everyone for keeping the thread alive.

I posted my resolution to this in MY case... Should be able to find it.
I had the Givi Trekker bags on my 2012... The only difference is that I had the Givi 1/4 turn easily removable brackets NOT the bolt on Givi brackets. There is a piece on the brackets that I have that bolts to the bike and thus stands the brackets out just enough to allow them to mount.
I'll find my link... It has photos and all.
I'm on my phone now.

I'm exercising extreme patience because I want specific bags and I want the same manufacturers mounts so I don't end up with fabrication.
I'm aware of the other style of Givi bags and going to wait for the Outback Trekkers and Cam mounts.
Thanks for the info.

Mingo,

In reviewing your post from some time back, did your SW-Motech racks come with those L shaped brackets already black or did you have them powder coated? I ask because our shop just got a set in for a new ES and the lower brackets by the footpegs are black, but the upper L shaped brackets came in silver. The Twisted Throttle rep I phoned today said there were no options on those brackets.
