Not that it helps here, but from everything I can tell the 2014 Standard model is setup just like the earlier models. I sure hope so because later this week I will be installing the Holan Panniers and racks onto my 2014 Blue....
I don't think the standard model will be any problem - business as usual as far as rack installation and pannier clearances. It's just the ES version that is causing everybody to scurry around looking for a new solution. Am I wrong in presuming it's just the rack attachment and not clearance for the pannier, or will the whole thing have to be moved out to clear the black plastic box?

I just picked up a Giant Loop Great Basin bag to use until the hard panniers become available from the various after market manufacturers. It's great because I was planning to eventually have some soft bags for adventure camping. Looks like I'll start out that way instead. ::008::

The RH bag will have to be spaced out as well. At least when the do come available you can use the same bag left and right. I just hope they don't take the low road and cut into the bag like most do to clear exhaust. I want to put a full size helmet in.

I also tickled Al Jesse today and he was unaware of the change as well. I don't prefer the look of his bags but would use them if available.

Now. If you are not concerned about putting a helmet in, I was told that SW Motech is aware of the issue and have mounts. For me the problem is that their largest bag is 11" Wide which is fine, but the top opening is only 9.5".

You just saved me $1k dollars.. I was going to get the ES version but have some givi mounts here that won't work. I don't really NEED ES and I can add better grips on my own so while it's a sweet bike, so is the base model and enough for me. Thanks.. ::012::

... and I like the Blue better.

Early adopters generally go through some hell before getting a better product all around.

I have it on good authority that Givi is altering their mounting kit to fit the ES, but it is likely to be 10-12 weeks before they are available here in the US.

I emailed Kevin Nixon, a forum member who works for Twisted Throttle about the SW-Motech racks and bags for the ES and his reply was:

Hi Fred.

I spoke with the development team at SW-MOTECH about the ES. They are going to get one in the shop in the coming weeks to confirm fitments. Until then, they suspect it will work but cannot commit until they have an opportunity to confirm. I asked them to give me a sku by sku update when they do have it in. Usually, I get these updates within a day of it being in the shop. Feel free to share that information.

fredz43 Thanks for that... However I had Givi Trekker bags and the quick 3/4 turn removable brackets on my Super T. When. Went with the Trax bags I got the adapter brackets from Twisted Trottle to allow me to put the Trax bags on my Givi racks.
So I'm screwed... I will need new brackets IF I get the ES.
I still say... Damn!

I also have been in contact with the guys at Twisted Throttle (very helpful in every respect), and they contacted SW Motech and they indicated that they had already tested out on the ES and that their bags and mounts would work. We are (as usual) getting conflicting information. I suspect this will happen until manufacturers realize that the vast majority of buyers of the Super T will in fact go with the ES model and then they will react to keep their share of the marketplace.

I just got an email from the chief designer at SW-MOTECH who happens to also be the brother of the founder of Twisted Throttle about the updated S10. Here is his response:

Basically everything needs a revision.
Not sure what they do in the USA but in Europe there are 2 versions (1 with electronic adjustable suspension 1 without).

ESSENTIAL: For both new versions the following products definitely require changes:
Skid Plate
Hawk Auxiliary Lights/Mounts
Kobra Handguards (Barkbusters as well)

The EVO Sidecarrier will work only with the ZA version (electronic suspension) but will still need a revision to work with the other version (without electronic suspension).

THE GOOD NEWS: The ALU-RACK and STEEL-RACK are compatible with both models!
This is preliminary information at this point. They have the bike in the shop and are now doing some redesigns to address the 2014 model changes. I am unsure if they are going to make new part numbers or revise the existing ones to fit both. My guess is they will revise what they can to fit all Super Teneres and make new part numbers for anything that requires separate parts to fit different generations/ models of the S10. As the info trickles in I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the info. As for the skid plate I transferred the Yamaha brand skid plate from my 2013 to the '14 with no issues. The Yamaha engine guards went on with only a mod to the new wind deflector.
Thanks
Randy

I'm puzzled as to why they say the side carrier racks will work only with the ZA (ES over here) electronic suspension model and not the standard model. The ES model has some changes with the control mechanism and side cover added while the standard model appears to be unchanged from the previous models

Kev,
I bought a set of SW Motech racks for my ES model a while back. I haven't mounted them. Now that I have my ES model I will try to see if they fit and will let you know.

Is a Kuryakyn 1670 Plug-In Driver Backrest. But its not plug in for a Tenere. I had to dramatically modify my rear rack to make it work.
I have the AltRider rear rack, would mounting this backrest just be a matter of drilling holes where they need to be to bolt this on? Could you post a pic of how you mounted this to your luggage rack? Thanks, looks like a pretty decent solution.

Hmm, I was just about to install the SW Motech racks on my ES model, based on the info above that they will fit, but I wanted to be sure so I called TT and they said they won't fit and gave me an RMA to send them back. I'll wait to see if Kevin from TT chimes in as I'd rather mount them than return them.

Hiya Fred.

I cannot say why. This was the information I got from SW-MOTECH. They have all three models in the ZA (ES in North America), the World Crosser, and the "base" model. so they aill be giving us definitive answers shortly.

Hi Kev,

Check the post right above yours. Someone at TT told Mingo they would not fit the ES model and gave him a RMA to return his.

You may want to hold off on that. Our return policy on previously installed items is pretty clear. If there are any installation marks on them, you own them. Keep in mind you bought them for a regular S10 and not the ES model. So we didn't sell them to you for the ES therefore we're not at fault. I don't want to sound so negative. I just want help protect you from being stuck with something that won't work on your bike.
