I bet Yamaha is watching! I am. It sounds legit and I'd want the dual clutch model too. Yamaha will have to build a narly dirty lighter 700 to take sales from it. It looks like a great package. I'm stoked it's coming and hope it sells well who knows by the time my 12 is used up they'll be on a second gen.

I was looking to move up from a '12 to a '14/15, but if the ergos are the same as the S10 I may just hold off and look at the DCT version. I'll bet they won't be discounting these.....

A DCT version might tempt me for my next bike, but that will be a couple of years off yet.

Woo hoo! Oh wait, you want how much????? ::017::
looks good, parallel twin...chain driven, not sure why the hell you would want an auto box on an adv bike...

and yes price...Honda NA has taken a gun and shot itself in one foot, and for good measure, shot the other foot too...
I'm guessing $20 grand Canadian.

I'm a Honda man so I'll be watching closely to see if it lives up to the hype. I love my S10 but would switch to a Honda tomorrow if it was even close. The crosstourer had me except for a cramped riding position.

Ah but still about 25%-30% cheaper than European pricing........

oh I know that. Funniest thing it will probably be built in Italy :)

Euro pricing is out of control, but my point was that when honda went to the single brand dealer network, they basically raised msrp prices by 30% the day the dealership opened. The show very little incentive in selling the bikes (discounts, accessory rebates etc) and their attitude sucks (the one closest to my house anyways).

So for a chain driven, well sorted parallel twin...$20 might be a big ask. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be in that neiborhood

Greg I bet your right on a premium price. I think an auto box would be great for a big trail bike. I think it would have seamless shifts from one gear to the next without any interruption in torque to the back wheel. That would mean alot on a nasty hill climb. I'm pretty sure you can shift it with a button also. Chains are great for gearing what suits you and last quite awhile with a little looking after. Maybe Yamaha will get it in gear with the Mid-Ten (700)

good point, and I agree on both, but not for that price.
The 7 motor is a gem. I only have 1200 km on mine but, I am really enjoying that bike.
If they have brains (they do) then they will stick that in a small tenere.

Would be nice if its geared more toward the KTM as opposed to the Multistrada... Would seem it is with a 21" front wheel......

just another Honda without a dealer network... big whoop.....
now now...there's two dealers in Calgary alone...one is useless (Powerhouse SW), and the other one still needs to prove itself (Pro Am NE)

This is great news! Especially if it can create some competition in the "mid-sized" ADV bike class. We have plenty of contenders in the 1200cc range and even more in the 650cc and below but very few legitimate options in the 700-800 range.

I get the fact that many like a shaft drive, but of all the bikes that have been around the world or done the TAT - how many had a chain vs a final drive? Give me a big ADV bike that does most everything else right and I can overlook the need to crawl around in the dirt on my knees to clean and lube my chain.

I for one will be seeking this thing out when it hits the market for a look-see.

Looks like at 1000 cc this is a bit above the mid size 800 bikes and a bit below the 1200 class. Should be very interesting for the guys who really like to ride their S10's in the dirt vs pavement. Would this be TB(real)DBITW? ;D
