Short report on the new V-Stream shield. I will add more when I return from a trip this week.'

Instead of buying a new Parabellum windshield I decided to try the new V-Stream. The shipping was very fast and nice people to work with. They answered all of my questions about testing and hard coating. They bought a new Super Tenere to use for testing and made various screens until one was found to be the best. I liked that attention to making the correct product.

The hard coating is to eliminate scratches and so far it looks like it may work. I bought the mid size with lite grey tint.

I removed the shield from the box and found it to be well wrapped and in almost great condition. More on that later.'

I had removed the stock shield so began mounting the new one. Everything went very smooth. The holes all lined up with no surprises.
It is a good looking screen and well made. About 3.5mm thick.

Now for the good and bad. I noticed some fine scratches on the shield near the V emblem(silk screened, and then covered with coating).
I thought it may have been something on the shield and used a cloth for glasses with some water, but was still there.

Now the good point. I called and talked with Paul who could not believe it at first. These people are very proud of their products and want to make sure you are also.
We came to the conclusion the very fine scratches were on the shield prior to coating and I was given a RMA # .
I am leaving on a trip on Wednesday and was told to use the shield and send it back when I returned.
I am very happy with the way it was handled.

That's about it, until I return.. ::025::

Did you get the N20305 VStream® Replacement Windscreen; Sport/Tour Height? That would make it about the same size as the Yamaha Tour windscreen that I just got and hate. Has a very bad distortion about and inch below the lip and its right in my sight line. Pisses me off and especially as they are all like that. Will keep a look out on your review.

Yes that is the one I got. The optics are exceptionally clear and I have not noticed any distortion.

I have pics but they were taken in my shop and you cannot see the shield that well. I will take better pics when I leave.

The National cycle website compares all their screens with the stock screen i the images. Check it out if you want to compare the size with the stock screen.

I ordered my VStream Sport Touring shield on April 17, it arrived on the 19th, and I took a 300+ mile ride on the 20th.

I ran the stock shield for about 1000 miles, then installed a Cal Sci medium shield, and now the VStream.

The VStream shield is about the same height as the CalSci medium, but wider and with a more pleasing shape (IMHO). It offers better upper shoulder protection and a wider bubble of calm air. I am pretty happy with the shield and recommend it over others I have tried so far.

What really sealed the deal on my VStrom was the MadStad bracket, so I think that is the next mod.

Overall, two thumbs up for the the VStream. I have had them on various bikes to date and all have been good enough to be a final stopping point.

Ride safe!

Just ordered mine. I stupidly bought the Yamaha Touring screen and can't wait to sell it. I will take pictures to compare the two before I get rid of it for others to compare it.

When I installed mine, I used the Madstad bracket. It is nice and I really like the shield, but the holes are about one inch lower than need be with the bracket.
The bracket can only be mounted using the top oem bracket holes, so when you mount the shield it sits a little higher than it needs to. At least for me, ymmv.

I also have the Madstad bracket so I guess I will see how the windshield works with it. Thanks for the heads up.

The Brown truck arrived this AM with the new VStream windscreen. I will get some pictures of it with the stock windscreen and the Yamaha touring windscreen for comparison purposes. Raining here with TS so no riding today to check it out, but will ride tomorrow to Ducati dealer event and report back on how it works. I will probably have to lower the Madstad bracket as there is no adjustability on the windscreen for mounting height. With the Madstad lowered all the way I am still looking through the windscreen. Not a a big deal for me.

This string is helpful. I'm getting ready to order the V-Stream for the ST however I'm torn between the large and the medium. I'm 6'1" and with the stock screen the wind hits me at the forehead part of the helmet. That said, the stock screen from center bottom tip to top is 17 1/4". The medium Vstream is 18 1/2" (not sure of where they measure from / to). Can anyone tell me if the medium (by adding that extra 1 1/2") would direct the wind over my head? The large looks a bit LARGE to me. Not sure I like the look of it.

'According to National Cycle the medium is 21.25". I have the medium with the Madstad bracket and the shield is plenty tall for me. 5'11"- 30" inseam.
If you want to look through the screen the large may be the one.

I see, you're right. 21 1/2 for the med. 18 1/2 for the small. Can you send some pics? I'm still thinking the small may do the trick since its biggher and better than stock. Never mind, I see boondockers pic. Anyone have a pic of the smaller N20304 mounted on the ST?

My touring VStream (#N20306) just came in. It's about 8" taller than OEM short screen. I'll install it this afternoon and go for a nice long ride and report my findings. Here's a picture:
