First, I must admit I'm as "blinkered" over the Tenere as any BMW dude is over the GS(A). It's not news around here.

But I also haven't hidden my intrigue of the NTX over on their thread. (advrider)

In fact, that sweet Guzzi would currently be my second choice. I've said as much.

Remember, my post was simply a response driven by an opinion by someone that the S10 was lacking in 2-up prowess. I had nothing negative to say of the Guzzi. I want one!

Re: Passenger footpeg lowering kit

Duckhead,

Agreed. Most bikes take a bit of dialing in to make them as close to perfect as possible when it comes to fit and comfort. With over 40 bikes in 46 years of riding and racing, it wouldn't be the first time. :) Considering the feedback from Boostedxt and others about the MCL kit and the results they've had, and with a seat mod, I'm confident the S10 will work. Took another look at a new 2013 today and at 5'11, 178lbs with a 30in inseam, the bike fits me perfectly. I am so impressed with the build quality, fit and finish, and the features this bike offers. I've looked at everything on the market and the value for the money of the Yamaha is second to none. Now I just have ride one to seal the deal. ;D

lowering the passenger foot pegs

I wonder if someone has lowered the rear foot pegs? My gilrfriend keep telling me how uncomfortable this bike is for a passenger and mostly because the pegs are too high.
I saw on ebay a pair of chinese lower rear foot pegs, has anyone try them???

Thanks

Nicolas

Re: lowering the passenger foot pegs

I bought a FJR passenger peg relocation kit from motorcyclelarry.com

http://www.motorcyclelarry.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=31

I had to drill out the holes to fit the beefier S10 hardware, but they work well. The move the pegs forward and down about 3" and out about 2". They stick out far enough that t h eyes don't interfere with the back of my feet and on long solo rides it provides another foot location (heels on the passenger pegs toes on the front pegs).

Those FJR lowering pieces have caused many smiles on female pillions on this forum.

And the driver benefits too because the passenger boots are now less likely to hit his boots in the calf area.
Really good solution.

Re: lowering the passenger foot pegs

I installed the motorcycle Larry passenger peg lowering brackets for the fjr onto my 2014. My wife, a smoking hot 5'-3" 1/2 Asian chick (yes, I'm bragging and that has nothing to do with the pegs whatsoever) LOVES it, even more than our C14 or triumph tiger. She has sensitive hips and neck, and these solved the hip issues 100%.

We've only done a 2-hour stint, but she was ready for 2 more. Worth every $.
