I know its for Ducati but it might work.

I have just moved from a Multistrada to the XTZ. I made passenger pegs for the Ducati and they fitted just about straight on the Yamaha. You might just need a spacer washer or a bit of filing - can't remember which. In fact, you would be amazed at how near identical all passenger peg mounts are. I have this set I made for a Yamaha Diversion which then went onto an FJR then onto the Ducati then onto the Super Tenere. The only small variations are in width (a millimeter or two) and angle (a degree or two).

lowering the passenger foot pegs

I'm considering the S10 and the Stelvio for my next 2-up touring bike. The Yamaha has everything I need except for one area. The passenger accommodations. My GF has extremely long legs so footpeg room is critical. A long, wide seat is mandatory for her to even consider riding with me. She's new to motorcycles. :) IMHO, the Yamaha falls well short in both of these areas. The Guzzi has acres of room! The seat issue is probably fixable. Do you folks know of anyone who makes rear footpeg extensions for the Yamaha. There's some great deals on the S10 right now but the Stelvio is way more comfortable for her. Thanks for any info.

Go with The Stelvio as you have found it suits. If you buy the Yamaha you will be forever comparing it to the comfort of the Stelvio.

The Super Tenere is, at its core, a solo adventure tourer. It does not seem to be a good fit for your situation because you will be riding two-up. Very few people ride two up off highway, as it is just not safe or practical. I would go with the Stelvio.

Pure blasphemy!
Shame on you so called Teneristas! :)

Best 2-up off-road motorcycle in the world! Maybe, just maybe the GSA is close. But 500lbs of cargo on it in some remote mountain pass would have me worrying.

Tarmac and gentle gravel only? Then yea, some other contenders. Especially that sweet NTX Guzzi.

But the Tenere is the KING for what Ole Git, Eemsreno, and a few others around here do.

Women come and women go.......but a good motorcycle is a once in a life time event. Dump the GF

Find a new GF with shorter legs or have this one get some corrective surgery to "custom fit" her to a ST10.
::015::
I bought the ST for 2 up riding.....am I going to bust hill and river beds with my wife ? No but as far as reliabilty and space it is #1

Re: Passenger footpeg lowering kit

I loved the Stelvio and the Mrs hated it on the back  She is about 6'0 tall and found the pegs OK on the S10 - the only issue we found was the SW TOp Box sat a bit close to her and I ended up modifying the SW bracket to move the box back about 2 inches.

I did also send the seat away for a bit of a extra foam, in the UK a few firms offer this - although many car upholsterers will do simple mods if you ask them.

We managed a 3,000 mile two-up trip and the bike was great - although I also fitted a better rear shock as the OE one is a bit soft for two people plus luggage (and I would bet the Stelvio would also benefit from better springing for such a load)

The Yamaha engine definitely has a better power delivery for two-up touring and much better front end IMO - but the Guzzi does have "character" if you believe in such things, you really cannot lose - have a great trip ::008::

Re: Passenger footpeg lowering kit

Tubebender, thanks a lot!
That's what I had in mind. Priced right, as well. Those just might do the trick.

Duckhead,
Sorry, she's a keeper. :)

Rasher,
That's some good information. Did you own a Stelvio, or did you two take a test ride? I'm surprised she didn't like the MG. It has the best seat and by far the most legroom of any ADV bike on the market. What did she object to? I'd also like to hear your reasons why the S10 motor is better for 2-up riding. Thanks. :)

I should clarify that we'll probably be on pavement 95% of the time. I have a motocross background but I don't think she'd go for anything more than a smooth dirt round. We'll see. ;D

Actually, I'm 24 hours into a 5 day biz trip in New York City. I'm struggling.
Taking in the Superbowl while you're there, Snake? They were saying on sports radio on my way home tonight that there are 18,000 seats available and ticket prices were plummeting...

I'm here BECAUSE of the SuperBowl. But not to attend, sadly. Long story. I do most of them. (network engineering at private aviation terminals)

I DID get to attend the one in Houston. The famous Janet Jackson boob shot game. Nope, didn't notice. Lol

Great game. Overtime.

Horrible hijack. Sorry. (not very)

Are you serious?
My partner considers the Super Tenere the best bike she has been on for 2-up, and this even before I raised the front of her seat about a half inch to flatten it more. She far prefers the big flat Tenere seat to the BarcoLounger lounge seats on GoldWings & 'Glides.

We are not all as blinkered as BMW Riders. Suggesting The Stelvio is being practical. ::015::

Can't help much with the passenger foot peg issue as my wife seems OK in that department. I can, however, offer up that I was down to same two bikes for exactly the same purposes as you. I was all set to go with the NTX but the wife was leaning for the Tenere. After a couple test rides on both bikes we ended up here and haven't looked back. Some suspension tweaks were in order but the Tenere has been a fantastic 2-up tourer for us. Good luck with you choice. Both are sweet rides...

Re: Passenger footpeg lowering kit

Thanks, Guys

I really appreciate the feedback. I like the fact that the MCL kit moves the pegs forward and out, as well as down. ::008::

Re: Passenger footpeg lowering kit

I appreciate your ability to take a ribbing about your lady.......in all seriousness I would agree with everyones comments with exception to the two up issue....... As others have said....buy the motorcycle that fits you and the GF. I ride 90% of the time with my wife and would not have it anyother way. Its a great thing to share as a couple. My wife has done 800 mile days on several bikes without complaints. Buy what works for both of you if she is a keeper. As I am sure you know no bike is perfect out of the box. minor alterations are always in order if you are not the standard sized rider(what ever that means). I dont know the Stelvio but one day I will own one of the Guzzis , they are great machines.....Good luck in your choice.
