I usually put about 4.8 gallons in the bike at around 210 miles.

I can quite easily, but it involves riding on narrow back lanes, when there isn't room to get past an oncoming car and you cannot see around the next bend, self preservation instincts have you backing off a bit when you consider who is going to win in a 100mph combined speed head on with an S10 Vs a Tractor, so these roads see my MPG soar, as does following the Mrs who has only just passed her test, she tends to cruise below 70mph on back roads and her WeeStrom does not haul out of bends that quick so the S10 gets a really easy time - and can top 55mpg quite easily (64 being my record)Dallara said:I honestly can't imagine getting 45-50 MPG out of my Tenere. I wouldn't want to be riding it that slowly! It's too much fun to ride fast!

My Arse and Knees are done well before 240 miles :exclaim:kevinw said:on the Tenere we're pretty much done at 240................
.........During normal riding that's not a significant issue but during rallies or long distance it is.
I rode from Green River down 24 and then 12 this Saturday. I passed a lot of bikes but didn't recognize an S10. Utah 12 seems to attract fewer HD's and a larger % of sport oriented bikes than I normally see. Rode 1600 miles this Friday - Sunday. Average 45 mpg, worst was from Brigham City up to Idaho Falls at 80 mph. Maybe 36 mpg. My one real complaint on my S10 is how badly it drops off in fuel mileage above 4000 rpms.NoMorBills said:Jus t this past weekend while riding from Escalante, Ut up Hwy 12 to Torre and then over to 25 & 72 up to Interstate 70. Jumped on the Interstate and thought there would be gas??? No stations till we got into Green River.
I was at 220 and the last 10 miles on low fuel. Filled with just 4.7 gall. That means I had at least another gallon to use or 45 more miles.
My bike has 30,000 miles stock tune with CJM, Yosh pipe.
Ridiing moderatly hard with hyw speeds of 75-80 I get 45mpg.
