I think I will need to use a piece of sheep skin to cover the saddle for my trip to Texas in 10 days. Even with the mod done to reduce the forward tilt, the saddle just plan sucks. Way too soft and the texture limits almost all movement. I fear that even with large amounts of GB powder, I will be hurting by the time I get back home.

I put a sheepskin over the foam and was surprised how good it is, might even be better than the stock for me. The Russell will lift me an inch higher and I'll be at nose bleed then.

I got one from a place called Egli's Sheep Farm in Ontario. I think it really helps.

Regarding your ride into Texas in 10 days, well, I dunno. In 10 days I'll be freezing my little toasties off. You southern guys sure make it hard on an old polar bear. R

Since we have drifted from the side panel design, I may as well also mention I got my best milege yet yesterday. On my final leg of 269 miles, it took 5.015 gallons to fill it back up ( I had been on reserve about 20 miles). 53.63mpg. ::003:: This is on regular 85 octane gas.

Mostly T with some occasional playing in S. Some was interstate, but most was mountain roads running 45 to 65.
