I was digging through a drawer out in the garage and I found a pair of H7 DDM Tuning HIDs I had from a previous bike. I THINK they are the 55W setup and 5000k color.

Anyone have any EXPERIENCE with them installed on the Tenere? Any pics of ballast and igniter mounting?

Fitted an H7 Hid to mine (one only -wanted to compare) you need to drill an access hole into the headlamp for the HiD wires, I used the bulb access panel as its replaceable (in theory) I mounted the ballasts on the LHS on the inside of the cockpit but its a bit cramped (subject to ballast size) . Its relatively easy mod to do but make sure your hid lamps are full length ones as the short ones dont focus correctly in the projector lense leading to blackout spots in the light beam.

Drilling the hole is no problem. Pretty much par for the course. I was mostly curious if anyone had any pics of the ballast locations or wire routing tips. Any chance you snapped a few?

I was considering HID's. My reluctance for HID's is if I am traveling and one of them blows. At least with the stock H7's you can get a replacement bulb almos anywhere.

THEN

I installed the Baja Designs lights that Tabasco organized. Holy fookin hell. No HID's required, IMO.

Even if the HID bulb blows, you can still walk into the auto store and get an H7 bulb and replace the HID bulb; you just unplug the HID wire harness, as it's the same connection used on the H7 bulb.

No pics just yet but you don't put anything behind the side panels. It all fits in the area behind the headlights and plugs in to stock headlight connector. You have to self locate the ballasts depending on ballast size and preference. Leave the side panels on.

You mean under the plastic cover that can be seen through the windscreen?

I took some time and pulled apart the panels and the front covers.

I THINK I could jam one ballast and igniter behind the cover under the windscreen behind the dash.

I'm not sure where I could jam a 2nd.

Does anyone have PICS of theirs?
