Sounds more/less normal.
Actual capacity is about 5.7g to where gas just starts backing up into the filler neck when refueling. After you use about 4.5g of this, you'll be on reserve (flashing last bar). Low 40's is common mileage, so this is about 190 miles as you experience. You have another 1.2g or so before it runs out which typically gets you another 50 miles or so before you start walking.
You can get another 0.3g into the tank if you work at it by pulsing fuel into the filler neck, waiting until it settles and pulsing again. But this is tedious and Yamaha doesn't recommend it. Drilling out the filler neck can make this process easier, but this has its own risks. Some report overfilling screws up the evap canister system on CA bikes and there is always the problem of cold fuel expanding in a hot bike and overflowing if you don't ride away immediately. So Yamaha is a little cheeky is saying capacity is 6.0 (or 6.1 in some specs) when filling as they recommend (and most would) is more like 5.7 or so.
