FODS WV 2016 downloadable .GPX route files now available here...

http://www.attacktheroad.com/fodswv/index.php/event-information/routes

The above info has been added to post #1 as well.

Be advised the published routes are all true 50/50 dual sport routes. Each is approx. 200 miles long. For example, WR with a stock seat is not recommended (according to Billy Fitz last year). Nothing hairy off road but NOT advisable for a street bike but fine for a Tenere.

However it is an all bike meet. There are knowledgeable FJR riders attending but they were too damned lazy to submit routes ahead of time!

Outstanding! Soon be June!!

We are going to have a nice mix of bikes and riders...pure street through near pure dirt.

Having issues down loading the GPX files on my Mac. Maybe that's the problem. I tried Garmin POI Loader with no luck.
Anyway I hope to hook up with other Tenere riders and do a couple of the posted routes.
Any takers interested ?

What type of GPS do you have? I have both Garmin and TomTom units and the corresponding software. I can send you whichever you need. PM me your email address. As for riding the routes, count me in.

I have a Nuvi 550. But I can't even open them on my Mac.
If you are in on riding together then I will just follow you :)
Thanks

10-4. Last year, we had a group of four. That worked out nicely. ::008::

There is a definite and distinct rumor that EL Toro Joe's world famous at FODS WV BBQ is on tap!!! for either Thurs or Fri evening (depending on when Joe decides). Campground site location TBA once we are there. BYOB.

btw - Found that if you ask them for it, the camp ground has a senior discount for those over 60.

Jim - I heard from Mike. He and Wanda are coming. My wife is coming and she keeps bugging me to ask you what she can do for the Saturday feast. Of course, since I am not riding down this year, I'll bring some good beer. ::008::

Looking forward to this.

Yep, I helped Mike find a last minute off-park cabin.

Tell Mrs. 78YZ no worries. We are playing things by ear this year and that her first priority is to relax and enjoy WV.

Joe's BBQ will likely be Fri evening and at this point there are no definite plans for Sat evening. We will wing a run for supplies and she is more than welcome to pitch in setting things up and it will be good! No one has ever complained about going hungry at one of our camp-n-rides.

It seems the organizers have developed a severe case of KISS (returning to our established ways; last year was something of an exception).
