Slow start...I want more. Over the last 10 days it feels like my riding days are behind me and I can only live vicariously through you guys. I need to do more living. More photos please...

Be carefull what you ask for, my friend.
;)

No real damage. I was thinking about you after the Helite airbag vest worked as advertised. Thanks for getting me to think about it. I was also glad to have the SPOT tracker.

Oh man did you have help to lift things up? Glad you had the vest we don't bounce like we use to. Any damage to the vest? Wonder how it held up. It might be good to post on the vest thread your experience.

It was just me, so no help in getting things upright. The trailer put a lot of torque on the hitch, so I first had to slide the trailer around on it's side to get it behind the bike to be able to unhitch it. Even with the wheels slightly higher than the bike, the biggest issue was simply traction in the mud to pick the bike up. After throwing some sticks where I was standing with my back to the bike, it was a normal job to pick up. Once these bikes rise to pivot on the bottom of the crash bar walking them up is not bad.

Good point about the thread for the vest, I'll put something there. No damage to it at all, it worked as billed.

Bob - glad you are OK. The Tenere is tough indeed but it sounds like you are no pushover either!!

Being a WV resident (kinda these days) I love the mental gymnastics you went thru when the road went to unmaintained. Been there so many times but never ever with a trailer.

Geez... I wasn't asking for that! Glad you are fine. You didn't waste any time testing that vest. Reminds me of when DM switched from wearing jeans to wearing riding pants. Next ride she totaled her bike and slid down the road with a long slide on the pants. They worked. I'm curious to know if you feel the vest prevented injury...but I'll look for my answer in the other thread.

Glad all you got was a picture and some extra time in the woods.

Bob do you think the trailer contributed to the fall?

It was ALL about the right trailer tire hanging up in that one deep puddle and then springing forward. I was on a road I should not have been, and going a bit faster than I needed to.

My FODS trip was cut short due to my mishap on the same road the Checks went down on.
The first photo was taken by Checks and was where i got hung up on the left side of the photo.
I had 80/20 tires and was not suited for the conditions. Bill helped me get out with some tree bark under the rear tire.

Before reaching this hole I went down on a rutted slope that was my own fault for following Mike too closely . Not even at speed by my left foot slipped in the muddy rut as I was going down and that is where it got sprained.

At that point all I was thinking about was getting home before it swelled up too bad.

Sorry to miss out on all the fun but enjoyed meeting Mike and Bill and family.
