Hi guys, thanks for letting me tag along today! I enjoyed it and it was great meeting you all and seeing your bikes and farkels. And great to talk with fellow S10 owners.
Hope I didn't slow you down too much. It was very cool to actually experience how well the S10 handles mud, gravel, and pot holes. Even better than I had hoped. But you guys really moved out in that ruff stuff! ::012::
Obviously not the first time for you or your beasts.
Thanks again,
John

It ain't no KLR that one man can get unstuck.

1.5 hours later with a come-a-long, long 2 x 4, & a good samaritan.

No kickstand was needed to stay upright..
It got soft & sunk quick right down to the pumpkin.
Mind you...the ground around this site got quite disturbed wrestling it out. The shot was taken right after I knew I was fucked. Soaked in sweat 1.5 hours later, I was in no mood for picture taking..

****Here's a mixed bag of pics from yesterday & other recent photography.
Enjoy the slideshow...

Wow, nice looking stick in the mud! That pic reminds me of when I got my 74 Jeep Cherokee chief with quadratrac stuck in a farmers field. Same soft mud. It took me 30 minutes in 4wd low with 4 bias ply snow tires spinning at the same rate to get out moving slowly at what seemed like inches per minute. The field looked like a bomb had gone off there when it was all said and done. Then the next 10 miles of mud flinging off the tires as i drove down the road..

Glad to see it you didn't tip over or get hurt !

Still on the stock tires at 3000 miles on the odo. Something more aggressive will go on next.
I just found some trails off 19n just south of homosassa. Didn't look as soft as it was, but yea...I screwed up
Ain't the 1st time, prolly not the last. :D

I have ridden dirt in the past on a mixture of bikes ranging from an old Bonneville that I put knobbies on all the way up to a 390 Husky. The Husky was a whole lot lighter than my Yamahog and blistering fast. I figure the substandard Bridgestones won't last more than 4k and am looking into the Hidenau Scouts next. Any recommendations for 80% asphalt and 20% sand and fire roads?

Like to street ride most and am still a little spooked about crashing off road and ripping my back fusion hardware loose!

Tampa area riders...

Will be in town this weekend with a couple of friends, (a KLR650 and Triumph Street Triple) for the Rush show Saturday night. If anybody want to get together for a ride Saturday, or at the very least, point us in the direction of any decent on-road riding down in that area, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance...
