The discription on the Amazon site is a bit confusing, leading you to think that you can make the same horn either a 'high' tone or a 'low' tone, but you cannot.

There two horns are different tones, one is a 'low' tone (part # 72112), the other is a 'high' tone (part # 72102).

They both look identical, including the bracket, but internally they are different.
Thanks for clearing up the confusion. :)

I picked up a Fiamm Low Tone (72112) from Pep Boys on the way home from work and plugged it in. Reading the Fiamm site, it said if you’re going to put just one horn in to go with the Low Tone. I’d say that it sounds like a good car horn…nothing more. It’s substantially better than the stock and I’m good with the sound. It really doesn’t take up much of the travel travel at all and it doesn't look bad either. It's no more obvious than the stock. Also, I tilted mine a little to the side so I don’t have so many dragon flies to pick out of it.

I did have an interesting observation though. First I just hooked it up to the existing wires; it’s plug and play w/no polarity on the wires so it doesn’t matter which wire goes to which post. Sounded okay so I mounted it up in the stock mount. Then when I hit the horn it sounded muffled by about two thirds…strange…kept doing it. So I took it back off, checked everything, reinstalled it and it’s working fine. Just an observation. I might have had a wire loose or something, but I hate when that crap happens. It affects my confidence. Anyway, it’s working well now.

I posted this in another area, so this is a re-post in the correct area.. :D

I mounted the horn in an out of way location, but still in front of bike. The instructions said there was a neg and positive. I used a multi meter and one of the wires on the bike is a ground and the other is a positive.
Here is some pics..

Nice, that looks much cleaner. What did you mount to on the side? I may have to make a change... ::012::

Thanks.. :)
I mounted the horn on the right side abs, that is the back side of the electrics. Make sense? lol

If you shine a light on the fork side of the panel you will see a mold mark. I used an awl and gently made a hole at the mark.
Then checked it from the electric side of the panel to make sure I could get to it.
Next wrapped some tape around a drill bit and drilled the hole by hand. This is much safer around the wire looms.

Then I drilled a 1/4" fender washer to use on the electric side. Next, a nylock and some Vibra-tite on the stud.

I removed the wire from the loom lock and ran it to the horn, then used wire ties and retied.

I checked out the radiator side but decided it was too flimsy.

I just followed SpeedStar's lead and got me the Fiam. I mounted it in the stock horn position yesterday. Woke up this morning and saw this....

I like the hidden location, so I went out and moved mine. Took all of 10 mins!!

Thanks!

Ok, Tomatocity....you challenged me to cover those unsightly horns. Here it is....$36 in custom grill material and $4 in door edge trim and a little sweat and there you have it.

I just moved my horn to japakos hidden location. Looks much better.

Another benefit.
I have been in touch with Pitbull for a steering stem pin for their forklift front lift.
This makes it easier to access the stem for that pin too.

Thanks Jaxon,, I rode it today for the first time since buying it. It was on my lift while the farkles were being installed. Still have a few more small things, but it is time to ride now.

I rode to Lake Whitney and back early in the morning. After I get it broke in, we'll have to take a ride.

Just mounted both of my FIAMM horns in the stealth location. One on each side and the mounting(s) are very, very sturdy. In fact the plastic on the left (radiator scoop) side is almost twice as thick as on the right (electrical) side.

They are so stealthy (especially if you paint the silver backs of the horns black), that you cannot even see them!

Here are a few pics....

Very nice Steve. Do you have a parts list, physical wiring location, installation hints? Did you buy the horns at Pep Boys? I need to get this done soon, very soon.

You can buy the horns at PepBoys for double of what Amazon charges....I don't have a PepBoys close so I just order mine.

I use those horns on all my street bikes, but I use both the high & low note horns together. Much louder than the Stebel horn (I have one as well). Each horn is 130db.

I buy mine from Amazon, just received two last week. $9.50 or so each.

I am still wiring them up but have been delayed since it has been over 115F here the last couple of days and the shop is HOT HOT HOT.

But I will wire them up using a relay triggered from the stock horn wiring. Feed switched 12 volts to the relay from the battery via a fuseblock, then to the horns. Pretty easy.
