I switched the stock horn with a Fiamm freeway blaster horn, model 72102.
Bolted right on but had to loose the rubber mount due to a shorter mount stud on the new horn.
It was $19 at Pepboys.

From this.

To this.

Here is the horn package.

I don't know the db. They had two versions, low tone and high tone. I got the high tone and is quite a bit louder and a different tone than stock. Instead of, excuse me. It is, hey move!

I learned to go to the local You-Pull-It junkyard to get horns from the biggest thing AND a relay. I think I paid less than $5 for all three on the last bike and it sounded like a truck when I hit the horn button. Guess what the horns came off of?

There's plenty of room in the ST for doing this.

Well be shure to post the info and pic's when you get'em mounted. I'm all for the FIAMM setup because I don't really trust the fragile nature of the Stebel...don't want just a single tone either.

I use those horns on all my street bikes, but I use both the high & low note horns together. Much louder than the Stebel horn (I have one as well). Each horn is 130db.

I buy mine from Amazon, just received two last week. $9.50 or so each.

Both the descriptions state "high or low note" . Is the bracket the only difference?

Make sure to check wheel travel up and down with a tape ( between horn and fender.), you have 7.5 inches of travel with the front suspension. I think you will find you need to modify the bracket or the fender will contact the horn on a large bump.

Is it easy to fit both horns (Hi and Lo sound) ? Do you need to modify the bracket? How is the mounting done? I guess you need to fit a relay?

Devin, were you able to use the original wiring or did you have to add/change out the connectors??

Did the dual horn modification with twin FIAMM Low Tone Freeway Blasters and the Eastern Beaver dual horn modification harness. I would not have even tried this without the E.B. harness. Nice and loud.

I used a bracket from a brake light kit that I didn't use for that purpose and with some modification it worked swell.

Nice job! Have you compressed the front suspension to see if the horns contact the front fender? Time to paint them yellow 8)

Fiamm freeway blaster horn

Ha! Not sure I am going to be compressing the suspension to that degree, but thanks. Yellow would be cool, especially with the yellow decals from Wasp.

Nice job. That one is on my list.
It doesn't look as if they take up anymore space than the optional PIAA aux. light kit, so you shouldn't have any clearence issues.
Did you use a relay?

Good safety mod. How about a cover to hide the horns? Wish I had a shear and bender. Iif they were priced reasonably, guy could make some money selling a mounting bracket / cover.

The discription on the Amazon site is a bit confusing, leading you to think that you can make the same horn either a 'high' tone or a 'low' tone, but you cannot.

There two horns are different tones, one is a 'low' tone (part # 72112), the other is a 'high' tone (part # 72102).

They both look identical, including the bracket, but internally they are different.

I am going to figure out a place to mount them under the side cover(s). I did this on my TDM and Tiger, since they look fugly out in the open and it does not take anything away from how LOUD they are. I will run these off a relay to get maximum voltage to the horns (via the FZ-1 fuse block), as even a volt drop at the horns (if using the stock wiring harness) decreases the sound output, sometimes substantially!

You got me thinking maybe something like the black mesh that some are using over the headlight, hmmmmm. I may have to work on that, darn you!
