No response from Stadium Yamaha to emails or to the dispute raised on paypal, so I have escalated the dispute to a claim with Paypal today.
Jason and stadium have let me down on a bad 14 CCT, still sitting in a box on the shelf after waiting over a month to get it was just awful less than 100 miles started rattling, removed it and installed manual CCT.
Was working on getting a refund or replacement, then Jason stepped in and wanted to send me to Bobby J's in Albuquerque for warranty replacement.
After about three phone calls he asked me for VIN # then reply's I am not on the Y.E.S. plan I tell him yes I am i checked till 2017.
I never got a reply been two months.

These guys failed in my book.
Although I am over it now manual is working great (Voids Warranty if something happens) I may just send it back and tell them to lube the part well and sit on it. ::010::
I bought my clutch basket from Rocky Mountain ATV, $33.00.. ::013::

Is that a typo? Or, does your brother in law work there?

Not a typo. Quite a few of us got our baskets for very cheap, due to a pricing error. Best thirty-somthin' bucks I've ever spent!! ::012::

I'd like to offer you $66 for it. That is 100% profit. ::017::

Damn I've got to change this thing. It has been sitting in my garage since first cheapo came out, together with the '14 CCT and the clutch plates. I want the transformation!
One question though... Do I have to replace the nut??

It was cheap indeed!
But after getting a refund by three other vendors due to the type-O, Rocky Mountain ATV granted me the basket even after they knew the price was incorrect!! ::024::
Reason I shop with them since my Triumph days!!

Point taken. I'll order the new one. What about that metal part? Should I order that one too? Few bucks extra are not going to save me.

The metal part is actually just a part of the nut. Once you have the nut torqued to the correct tightness (very important, you need a torque wrench and if memory serves it is 90 ft lbs) you gently hammer the edge of the nut into a boss on the shaft (you can use the hammer on a small screwdriver or not too sharp cold chisel). How this all works will be extremely obvious when you go to remove the original nut. You will need to use the same tools to straighten the nut before removal. The nut is on there VERY tight. There are many techniques for getting it off including the clutch basket holding tool but for me the best way (lacking an impact driver) was to put the bike in 6th gear, stomp on the rear brake pedal and use a large and long socket wrench or breaker bar with plenty of leverage. Works like a charm.

Well, finally found a round tuit and installed my $30 basket.

Me Likey.

Aint gonna re read the entire thread so not sure if this is repeat info but... The 2012 basket had 6 damper springs. 2 groups of 3. One of the groups were all loose in the mounting. Springs should always be at some level of tension. The three un-colored springs were loose. I wont know about vibration until later, but holy crap did it quiet down a bunch of the racket in this engine.

My riding season only just started, planning to ride the Teenere this week weather permitting and I have high expectations.

I have the 2014 basket in my 2012, and love it. A lot of people mention the loose springs in the old basket, and think of it as a fault. But as I understand it, those are the second phase springs, and they are designed to be loose like that. All of the 2012-2013 baskets will be like that.

Rode it to work this AM. It is quieter, smoother and the vibration is noticeably less. That was a really good way to spend 30 bux and about an hour.

Dont have any data to dispute, but in my experience compression springs are always under some tension. They are likely secondary or second phase, but without being under tension at rest they will rattle bang and contribute to the cacophony this engine has a rep for.

What I do know after a back and forth to work is this is SWEET.

I hear ya. The improvement is awesome. When the new basket eliminated that 3200rpm shudder, it erased the only thing that bothered me about the bike.

Whether the loose springs are a fault in the design or not, I don't know. I was just pointing out that it's in the design, and wasn't an issue unique to your bike, just in case you were thinking that... I could have misunderstood.

Warning!!!! [size=12pt]Don't buy OEM parts from Stadium Yamaha if you want them anytime soon.

I ordered parts from Stadium Yamaha on Feb.7. Then on the 13th I got this "...lost in transit..." email (see the lies below). I decided to wait patiently but this morning I decided to call to get a status update since it has been about (the additional) 2 weeks and I had no indication that it had even been shipped yet.
Same experience. I ordered the parts in late January and finally got a refund a week or so ago. Horrible customer service, horrible communication, etc. They are known as Lone Star Yamaha now so I guess they were either bought out or think a name change will help erase the past. I basically had to have a complete flip script on them to finally get a refund after they had my money for 3 months.

Just got an email from Lone Star Yamaha, formerly Stadium Yamaha. The mail order side is still Stadium. Looks like a restructure. Seems like it may smooth out again soon.

THANK YOU!!! I have been working on ridding myself of fatigue problems. 1st, cruise control. 2nd, winglets. 3rd, madstad screen brackets. Then all the sudden I notice my right hand is going numb. Never noticed before, when my head was being tossed around. I'll give this a shot. I'm using OEM heated grips, so I know they are firmer. Is there a slip over for summer? A softer grip slide on?

Look for something called 'Grip Puppies' they are foam sleeves that go over the original grips and 'cushion' the vibrations, summer gloves seem to do this to me too, not so much with the thicker winter weight gloves.
