I'm in still, plan on coming up Friday and camping.

Yeah, heard about a chance of rain on Thursday/Friday. We'll see how that pans out. A high of 50 and a low of 31 and mostly sunny on Saturday (Friday temp is 39/26). It seems the damp weather likes to chase this ride! I think we will be ok. Going to be fun!

I'm also going to Overland Expo so I'm out too. H tiger ,are you riding the Tenere out ? If so I'll be in the motorcycle camping area and I'll look for you. Sorry to miss the big bear trip ,it sounds fun.

Clearly the sacrifice was insufficient! I can't believe this might get cancelled AGAIN.


Other possible options are hitting up the 15 to the 18 in Victorville/Apple Valley and coming up from that way. It is pretty far out of the way, though.


Or, do it backwards and begin the ride in Yucca Valley (HWY 10 to the 62) and end up in Cactus Flats/Big Bear...even further out of the way to start.

Got it. And, there are other ways to get into Cactus Flats, too. Like the ones I listed above...however, they are more out of the way. The 15 to the 18 would be best and there is a lower road getting into the beginning of the trail. It's called Smarts Ranch Road.


How muddy will it be up in that area? I don't know!
