. . . . Honestly if well north of 100 is what you want to do, the FJR is a better machine, but the super T is rock solid.
I totally agree. It's the ol' "right tool for the job". The FJ/FJR does it so effortlessly. . . . even with my fat ass on it. The Tenere is much, much faster than I had expected.

it's pretty amazing how the super T can pretend to be a dirt bike and pretend to be a supersport tourer. as a guy who can only afford one bike, i'm pretty glad this is what sits in my garage waiting for me.

Those bl#@dy Italians.... :p
May I ask a question to the guys who has had their bike flashed?
Does yours rev differently in the first three gears?
Mine is all stock but the air filter and more or less seems the same like my fellow countrymen on the video...
It doesn't look like there are any "restrictions" on the first gears, is flashed version any different?
Sorry for hijacking the thread but I just thought I would grab the chance to compare it seeing that there is a video....
Many Thanks!

Mine will go from idle to "redline" in first fast enough to break traction. It will go to redline, if I choose to do so, for the remaining gear shifts. I rarely do that 'cuz she gets to stupid speed very quickly. . . . and it eats my tire up. Mine is a '17. I think I saw someone say on here that they changed the fueling in '17. Regardless, I don't know what I'd do with another 50+ horsepower. Except buy more tires . . . . more often.

My GPS has a recorded max speed on it of 174km/hr, i really don't know when i ever went that fast but either way it's there, must had been when i felt invisible or just plain stupid.

I don't know if it's a local thing or not, but there are people around here that have such a miserable life . . . . that they see how many cars they can gather behind them on the highway, until they reach a passing zone. They usually travel about 5mph below the posted limit. But, what's worse is that when they get to the passing lanes . . . . they speed up in an attempt to stay in front of the other traffic. So, I frequently have to get into the low triple digits to get away from their shenanigans.

these things can definitely burn up a set of tires if you run them hard!

I used to haul lumber (80's pre cell phones) ) from Ms. to Texas in convoys. I swear when we crossed the La. - Texas line into Texas. The people were way more courteous drivers. All the truckers mentioned it. Louisiana drivers were the worst. Drive 50mph on the 4 lane in the passing lane.

Yes, Texas was a much friendlier place back in the '80s. Just the other day I was telling my, born & raised Texan, wife that Texans were turning into Connecticutians. I suddenly realized that the Texans weren't changing, there's just more Connecticutians here now.

I get moving to a better place, but why try to make the new, better place, just like your old shitty place?

But, to get back on track, the first time I ever went way over 100mph, was up in New England. A section of I-95 that was three lanes wide with no traffic. The little devil on my shoulder said "do it". I was on my FJ, and just turned the throttle. I was expecting twitchiness at high speed. In reality, she was as solid as a rock all the way to an indicated 155mph.
