ready to pull the trigger on new front fork springs. i have around 30,000miles on the bike. are there any other parts that I should be thinking about replacing while i'm into the forks?
also which how-to thread is the best for this project?
Thanks for the help
Re: problem shifting
I have a 2012 that has been "suffering" with the clutch not disengaging issue for over a year now. Can someone confirm if the clutch basket mod (installing the 2014 version) fixes the problem? Thanks
hahahahaha - coastie - that was the best i was thinking the same thing.
the bike is great. AC - the flash works great. yesterday i put on about 80 miles in the forest. in the forest i kept it in T mode most of the time and what i noticed immediatly is how smooth it is. on and off throttle in...
fixed it....the colored wiring harness in the manual does wonders. my suggestion for when the going gets stupid - take a breath, have a beer and re-evaluate.
i checked all fuses. i checked continuity at the connectors. i'm not getting power to the fuel pump plug. i "hot wired" the pump to the battery and the pump ran. i don't really understand the relay testing method explained in the manual. does anyone?
but it mist be the relay - right?
i've got the plugs fixed - took them apart and soldered the fittings. now the fuel pump doesn't come on and the entire fuel gauge is blinking. Any ideas? :(
i need help....without going into the shitty details i "disconnected" one wire off of each of the fuel pump plug and the fuel sending unit plug located under the gas tank.
can the plugs be repaired? reconnecting the wire. if so what is the process? i tried just shoving it in and taping it...
i will try bleeding the clutch a few times and changing the oil before tearing it apart. in the manual it mentions a universal clutch holder - is this tool needed or just nice to have?
lot's of ideas....thanks. I changed the oil over 1000miles ago and its still happening. i'll have to look when I get home but I remember using a different oil this time because they were out of my usual brand.
I think this weekend i'll change the oil and take apart the clutch. how tough is it...
I've bled the clutch multiple times with no change. The bike continues forward while the clutch is pulled in and the bike is in gear. it doesn't move forward with enough "power" to move from a stop only continues to move when slowing down. also, not sure if it is related but my average full...
I've owned many bikes (with many miles) but I've never changed the clutch fluid in a single one. I have the service manual and I'll check the procedure. I wonder if this is why I've seen the dip in mpg?
thanks for the help y'all
the bike has about 30,000 miles on it, no warranty work. let me be clearer though, it goes into neutral at the gear lever but when coming to a stop and downshifting if I put it in first and have the clutch pulled all of the way in it still moves forward. once I stop the bike it stays stopped...
