this is my other little bike ...suzuki 650 v strom.

I dont know if its just my bike but my 2014 gen 2 model seems to cruise at 80-90mph a lot easier and less stressed than my older 2011 model did ..i know they altered the engine on the newer model making it a bit more free revving and smoother , and i,m running the same screen & wind deflectors...

had these engine bars on a while now and just reporting back ....they make no difference to the bike when its running [ no vibrations that you sometimes get with engine bars ] the paint seems to be standing up ok , no rusting or flaking . had the side panel off [ throttle side ] several times...

I found that anything up to 90mph they will cruise all day fully loaded with pillion...however..over 80mph they do start to drink fuel a bit ..

have you seen the prices there charging for dover to calais ferries this year. the big two companies [ p&o and dfds ] waited till they got rid of "my ferrylink" ferries last year and there prices this year have gone through the roof, [ not that i,m saying they have got together to keep prices...

i think a lot of this "not enough horse power" is coming from journalist in these bike mags who only ride a bike for a few weeks at the most and pull then pull it to bits because the one they had last month with 60 bhp more was quicker. thats fine if were talking cutting edge sports bikes ..but...

I cannot believe how long this is going on , after all its just a small niggle, i have never found it a problem .if it didn't have a gear indicator you could still ride the bike ok couldnt you ? .

I use the same set up as you ..steve h80 ..bagster tank cover with bagster bag on it ..its the only tankbag ive found that doesn't move about .

Ive noticed there are just as many "pot holes" about even though we've had a really mild winter ..i remember going to poland a few years ago and thinking my god ( well something like that ..lol..) these roads are terrible , but i think the roads in the uk are now just as bad . And not just pot...

Yes that is a good price ..me and my wife did spain and portugal on our own last year and the ferry along was over £500 .

A tip i use when i have to move the bike about , especially when its fully loaded is ..if your not about to go on a long run "dont fill your petrol tank up fully " if i,m getting on and off a ferry i make sure ive not got a lot of fuel in it , then fill up when i dock .the tenere has a big tank...
