I bought my YES warranty at the point of sale last week. I need to get the paperwork still.
Wait, why was my YES warranty $995? This is my first Yamaha eligible for a warranty. I'm looking right at my dealer invoice Y.E.S., $995.
Did I get scammed?
I'm rapidly getting less excited about the YES warranty, this is the same kind language found in the absolute bottom of barrel automotive junk warranties:
https://www.yamaha-motor-yes.com/globalassets/terms--conditions/48-state_mtsp_11_0825-effective-12_2011sampleonly.pdf
"the customer will be
required to authorize the Yamaha Dealer
to tear down the vehicle for diagnostic
evaluation. If there is not a mechanical
breakdown covered by this Y.E.S. Contract,
the customer is responsible for the costs of
diagnosis and teardown. "
So basically the dealer says they "believe" it's something that requires a big teardown. Oops, it wasn't that. We'll need $1,800 to hand the bike back to you.
