Since the temps have been steadily falling, I ordered a set of the Yamaha side wind deflectors today. My next purchase will be probably a larger windscreen; Cee Bailey's, Parabellum, etc.. Has anyone here had a fitment problem with the deflectors and a wider aftermarket screen? I know that supposedly the Parabellum hits the handguards at full steering lock.

I have the Parabellum and side deflectors and have no fitting problems. I am happy with the Parabellum screen.

Hey Scottie, may I ask where you ordered your deflectors from? I ordered from a "boat place" and the shipping date is 12/15. When do you expect yours to ship?

Thanks,
David
I ordered mine from my local dealer. They discounted from msrp to compete with the web plus I prefer supporting my local shop if I can. When the parts guy was placing the order the system showed it as being on back-order. So he called Yamaha directly and was told that it would ship on Dec. 23rd.

I installed the Parabellum 24" tinted shield today. It is a beauty but does contact the hand guards at full lock. This doesn't mean that you can't lock the fork without contacting the hand guards. There's no contact when locking the fork since there is some additional travel to full rotation.

I have a calsci windscreen and the side wind deflectors do come in contact with the screen. Thinking of trying another screen but I don't want to spend another $180 and find out I don't like it.

My bike was the prototype for the Parrabelum screen. Charly fit the screen with wind deflectors in place. I also do not have the hit others have described with the hand guards. The Parabellum works great, almost too good during the summer heat.

I added a calsci screen to mine and I have the OEM wind deflectors and I don't have any interference.

After doing some research, I ended up ordering the clear 24" Parabellum screen. I didn't realize it but they're located only an hour or so from my house. It's good that I'll be supporting a local business. ::012:: Unfortunately, I will also be supporting the state of GA with sales tax. ::010::

Scottie ride on up to Dahlonaga and Charly will custom fit it for you.

I have been looking at the side deflectors but in the UK they retail at just short of £90 which for two small clear plastic "wings" seems to be a little on the expesive side. I ask do they make any difference when used with the standard screen, what price are they else where in the world. I am sure we get shafted in the UK for any aftermarket parts.

How do you like the Givi? I don't want a screen so tall that I have to look through it, but I need a bit more height in order to get rid of the buffeting... from moving around behind the stock screen, it seems like I need a minimum of about another 3 inches. The Givi is 5" over stock... wondering if it's going to be too tall.

How tall are you?

I have them with the stock screen, but only rode the bike about 100 miles before installing the wings, so it's hard now to compare with/without. But my impression at the time was they keep some of the wind off your shoulders.

It was mid-summer when I picked up the bike so not sure it was actually beneficial. I'm sure coming into winter they will be worthwhile though.

I believe they retail for around $90 here.

Mine are on back order so I can't yet report as to how well they work. On this side of the pond, they retail for $79.95 USD although a brief search on the web will find them much cheaper. Ninety pounds does seem a bit steep. Could you order them from an American dealer?

Well it looks like they are not short of about half price over there, I have some family over in Cleveland Ohio who will be coming to the UK in January, If I can locate a dealer with stock who will post them to Cleveland it would be a consideration. Thanks for your prompt answers guys.
