You are starting to scare us now Jaxon. I sense you know the retail price from Yamaha already :-[
The pricing might turn out to be a good thing for someone who would be able to build-sell them.
Would be good at around $200, but I imagine from Yamaha they are around $400, or worse yet part of a package only with the rest of the worldcrosser extras.

Nope, don't know... But been around enough to have a good guess... I suspect expensive. I thought I had read they will soon be available in Europe to buy. Not sure where I read that. And there where no pricing to go with that article.

Z06 here on the forum makes a few nice carbon parts. Hope he builds some for us. The guys in this thread might want to PM Mr. Z06 and see if he might make up a dozen sets...

I just spoke with the parts guy at Yukon Yamaha about these guards ... here is his response ..

"Looks like it is a part of a kit offered in th UK and europe.
My guy at head office says "not likely coming to Canada or the US"
But he is looking into it.
I'll keep you posted."

There you go .. by the way, the parts guy there is goooooooooooood at his job. R ::012::

COOL ! Let us know what he might find out... I have a feeling we will be able to buy them from Europe at some point.

Would there be any interest in these parts done in glass ready to paint? $200 in carbon is going to be tough to do in the US and make any profit. How much did the scooter rear hugger from Italy cost in ABS?

Personally I think a flat black plastic (ABS or polycarbonate or something) would be great. It'd match the black side panels on all US bikes and it would be less prone to cosmetic "issues" once it sees a few off road excursions.

Should be a bit less expensive and then maybe more people would step up.

NOJ neoprene fork guards...like many others but these are split and velcro so no disassembly of forks to put guards on. Esier to clean. About 5 to 6 inches long so reach down reasonably far

The front fork guards done in glass or another plastic as a paint grade product would be fine by me.
Its one of those things thats going to get beat up in use and it would be nice to be able to redo the finish if necessary. Most of the initial cost of making them would be the pattern/mold work needed I would think. Might be a case of wait and see if the worldcrosser becomes available in NA.

Looking forward to what you can produce. Is weight a factor?

Not enough difference in weight between carbon and the glass/epoxy we use to matter. Will make a difference in cost.

Hi! Why don't you use the ForkSaver? Easy to fit and protects well. We use them down here in the Namibian desert were we suffer from microdust that cut through anything and everything. Reg. Jansan

Just spoke to Yamaha Europe headoffice here in The Netherlands.

The worldcrosser specific accessories (carbon covers etc.) will not become available as orderable parts from Yamaha.
They will only be orderable as replacement parts (eg. after a crash/accident) for/by a Worldcrosser bike. The framenumber of a worldcrosser bike needs to be provided in order to be able to order replacement parts.

This is the same as for the Explorer edition bike that I own. That bike too has some exclusive accessories (seats) that are only available for the Explorer Edition.
