No difficult problems, just difficult people
I travel a lot by car for my job. I tend to take country roads, as I hate heavy traffic, and enjoy the drive much more. One of my areas is State College, PA, (yes, it is the name of the town: it is the support town for Penn State) and I drive a series of back roads to and from where I go for my job. I usually pass a small shop with the Triumph dealer sign out front on PA45, never stopped in until yesterday. I was stuck behind a group of Harleys, who would have made poster children on what not to do while riding. They were starting to really get on my nerves, so I decided to let them take their life saving pipes and foolish driving habits, and I'd take a break. I was running early anyway, so now was as good a time as any. So I stopped at the Triumph shop, which almost never looks open, but most definitely was then. I walked into the shop, it is on the south side of the road, just west of a large school complex near Spring Mills. Opening the door, there sat a line of 60s and 70s Triumphs and BSAs. One of the staff came in, it turns out they are mostly (get this) new, unsold mid 70s Triumphs! And for sale at that. How cool is that?
I was asked if I wanted one, said no, got them out of my system when they were new bikes, just off the boat. So if anyone wants a BSA Victor or a Mid Seventies Triumph, new, no less, and some with left side shift(!) here's your chance. Neat shop, nice people, just like walking into a shop in the early seventies. Kreps Service Station 4412 Penns Valley Road ( which is Pennsylvania 45), Spring Mills, PA 16875. (814) 574-2869 They also had one of those Honda V twin naked bikes from the late eighties, early nineties: the L/C 650-700cc ones. I want to say Hawk, but not sure. It was sitting out front, nice shape. Less than $3K for it. Basically the last thing I need with the S10 coming, but I did consider it.
I kept looking for Rod to start talking about the Twilight Zone.....
Cheers!
