It looks to me like a species of Kingsnake...........which are not harmful to humans, and do eat other snakes.

That looks to be it!
Our security camera caught a King or Rat snake climbing around the porch. It was at least the size of this one. The head had already gone off camera when it activated, but there was at least 3' on camera. Didn't tell the wife. I like living here.

The only snakes here in Ireland are the 2 legged ones and these can be quite dangerous if given half a chance.

A friend and I spent two days out riding a ton of dirt and gravel roads in the Pisgah National Forest area in western North Carolina. It was a nonstop good ride, even with the sudden sleet and windstorm we got caught in up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and a road that was blocked by a fallen tree that caused some backtracking. There were lots of hidden gems along the way, like unexpected waterfalls and mountain lakes just popping up as you came around a switchback; it was more fun finding them by accident than by trying to research them and go looking for them. I did include one photo of one of these surprise waterfalls, here:
It goes way up that hill, and splashes down through multiple levels. Very serene.
There are some very small isolated communities that you ride though on those dirt and gravel roads, also. We stopped at this place:
It's a great little place in a community called Edgemont, established in 1895, and walking through the doors was like taking a step back into pre-WWII America. It's owned and operated by some really friendly and charming people, and well worth taking a break from riding there.

Paul and I went out yesterday for a Ride down Phantom Canyon Rd, then lunch at "Pizza Madness" in Canon-City, a quick ride of Skyline Drive followed by a Romp through Red Canyon Park and back home.

Ha! I had to mow again today. We have a 12 riding and mowing season. It's 6:30pm and still over 80°.
Simple dirt loop ride. Found some flowers and other wild life. Video of the Rattlesnake in the Relive link.

I see the speed limit at Ray mine has been increased substantially, since I was last there.
Hoped to ride the Mogollon Rim Road today. No go as the road was still closed.
Went back down to lower elevations and discovered FR 64. Follows the Rim but looks up at the Rim rather than looking down. A controlled burn was going on so it was smoky at times. Back home through Young on 288.
Less than 2 weeks before heading back to the midwest.

perfect riding weather. Pretty much all on tarmac. The bike came with road focussed tyres so I’ll get something more dirt suitable before I hit the trails.
