I've been out for three days in the south of Salamanca province and north of Cáceres province, in the areas named Peña de Francia, las Batuecas, las Hurdes and Sierra de Gata.
First I went to Salamanca city to see the main square
Then I went to Ciudad Rodrigo and booked a hotel for two nights.
These XVI century palaces are nice and impressive but somehow sad when you know that they were made with the money and properties stolen to the jews and muslims in forced exile out of Spain.
