These XVI century palaces are nice and impressive but somehow sad when you know that they were made with the money and properties stolen to the jews and muslims in forced exile out of Spain.
Beautiful places! You could always petition your Government to knock the palaces down or pay reparations. As in the UK, there must be those in Spain who also want to erase your colonial history.

You can't erase History. You can however learn from it.

fac191 has made a very good comment. If short, twice as good. However, I will elaborate a bit more.
By colonial history, I think you refer to our past colonies, mainly in America but this is not the historical episode I was talking about. I am a biologist who likes history, so perhaps a true Historian would correct me. In the XVI century, very little of the famous gold from America had arrived yet to Spain. There was another event going on, the expulsion of Jews and Muslims out of Spain. Perhaps I should comment this a bit further.
As everybody knows, the Muslims arrived to Spain in 711 and conquered almost all of Spain really fast. Then the reconquest started and last until 1492 when the last Muslim kingdom was defeated. This gives us a period of 800 years with Muslim presence in Spain. It's a long period of time. They took their time to complete it. IMO, what happened is that there was a coexistence between Christians, Muslims and Jews. There was a huge number of Jews too in both sides. To me, this was the brightest period of the history of Spain. With the Christians, we had access to the rest of Europe, with the Muslims, to the rest of the Muslim world, right from as far as the Middle East and with the Jews with both of these worlds. Lots of brilliant minds, developing in every science... it was outstanding.
Well, the Christians (Catholics actually) prevailed and decided to expel all Muslims and Jews. They leave with their clothes on, just this. They were forced to leave behind all properties, land, houses, money, jewelry, everything. Those smart Catholics who took advantage of it were the ones who built the palaces I showed you in the pictures. It was a massive forced transfer of properties and wealthiness.
Consequences.
First, this was just bestiality. Those people were as Spanish as any other, because they had been living here for centuries or perhaps they were locals who converted. Thousands of destroyed lives and unbelievable suffering just for greed in the name and excuse of the religion.
Second, we loose such a big amount of knowledge and brilliant minds that we can say that Spain has not recovered from it yet. Later, we had the illusion of the American gold that gave the impression of a rich and developed country. Just an illusion. We had exchange light for dark, science and knowledge for savagery and we have paid a big price for it and we are still recovering for that mistake.

Answering you, erasing that is not possible. Nowadays, many of those palaces are public properties, they belong to different branches of the State and they are serving to the public, so knocking them down is not a good idea, also because they are nice buildings and part of our history. Some reparations have been made. And yes, some Spaniards are critic with our history but it is still our history. Let's learn from it and do not repeat it again. This is not just an easy sentence. The ultra right might come back.

We also need to remember that History is only ever a version of the truth. As Churchill said
" History will be kind to me as I intend to write it myself "
The only History that doesn't lie is Paleontology and Geology the rest i will take with a pinch of salt.

I'm having a lot of fun with this drone. Places to fly it are plentiful where I live. Not so in many areas. . . .
I've been reading articles that people are flying drones over other people's yard/property. This is mainly in cities/towns. But several property owners have gotten arrested for damaging the drone while it was over their back yard. Apparently, there's already a law on the books that protects the drones from being interfered with even if it's trespassing over your yard. Even though it's your yard, it's not your air space. I get that it can't be open season on drones, but if I have a privacy fence, and someone is peeping into my house with a drone, there has to be some recourse for the property owner.

Which is one of the reasons I don't live in town. Mak is right, he has plenty of perfect places to fly it.

I’ve knocked a few out of the sky myself. I live in the middle of a small town and some people were flying them in the summer while we were in the backyard. I love drones (beautiful footage, but don’t own one) but don’t like them in filming me in my private space.

Encourage people to make the most beautiful footage out in the open.

Over here, the FAA has made it clear, that the drones are untouchable, or the "toucher" will be in trouble. I don't mind them flying over/by, but yeah, invade my privacy and there's going to be issues. Just like anything else, there's nice/good people . . . . and then there's assholes.

So I guess me flying my drone at or near your bedroom window is a no-go?

Anywhere you could expect privacy is a no go fly area. If your peeping in someone's window and they can track the drone back to you... you have problems.

But like Sierra said, the faa considers drones aircraft. Knock one down... you have problems.
