Well today I received: service manual, oem tall windshield, Forma adventure boots, Klim savanna pants (for the wife), and REI half done 2 plus tent. Made out pretty well!

Whoops, wrong thread. Thought this was the "what did you do to your tenere today?" Thread

Saw 10,000 feet elevation, 110F temps and turned over 100k on the Super Ten, right across the road from Butch Cassidy's once upon a time cabin.....
I think that's one of the most beautiful pictures on this thread. 'Congrats, I believe you have officially completed break-in :)

Thanks for the comments folks, today I took Joe's new AT, he took mine and we had a bit of crack along the south coast beyond Kinsale

Beautiful bikes both, completely different though, AT is much better off road, the dual clutch took many attempts to get used to but I ended up loving it, Tenere is more solid and very comfortable.

Watch out, there is little enough clearance on the Tenere, drove the sump guard mount through the bottom of the crankcase when I landed (not so hard) on a kerb later on, got the bike transported home and will get one of the lads to attempt to repair it tomorrow

Took a little 200+ mile trip for lunch at the Blind Pig. Good smoked turkey sandwich and fries... the slaw was so-so

Nice video Phil, where is your camera mounted? On the bars or fairing?

Took a ride out to a road I always see while driving / riding on the other side of this lake, a fantastic blue/green colour now I know where it goes, nowhere- dead end, but to a small town that climbs from 400m to 2200m in 3.6km to get there, then it's a hikers paradise........

I just got back home last night from an IBA/Hoagy's Heroes charity event, where I completed (2) SS1000's in 3 days (only reg'd one though, I'll explain at some point in a trip report maybe) including successfully completing the Hillbilly 1000 rally. Had some great riding in and around WV, loving the bike the whole time. When I made it home, the mileage total was a little over 3,800 in 5 days. Not a huge number by many folks' standards, but 2 of the days were 1k plus in under 24 hours, and there was no riding on Saturday...I admit I'm feeling it a little. The bike was awesome, but it needs a back rest, cruise control, and highway pegs. Also my Laam seat is really good, but it's a bit too soft for me. I'm 265 pounds, and after 400+ miles it really could use a bit more stiffness in the foam.

Here's a pic of Mike Kneebone graciously posing with me with my first ever rally flag. He even signed it for me.

Always kinda wanted to earn one of these...

Mounted it on the black removable cover on the right side just above the bars.
Cheers, is it a Drift type stick on mount? I had my Ghost S in the same place on my V-Strom but when I looked at the cover it looked too flat for a curved mount and too curved for a flat one!

Congrats on the SS1Ks. ::012:: ::012:: The sickness has begun. Next step is a BBG and more rallies. Then you'll start wanting one of those three digit numbers. ;D

Interesting about the Laam seat. My custom Cee Baileys was like that too, (they don't make seats any more). For my weight at the time, 280, more like 300 in gear, the all foam seat just didn't cut it. Even after a re-do with higher density foam, high temps and long miles and it just wasn't it for me. I sold it at a loss to a forum member that loves it, (except for the sticky cover), and got a Russell Day Long, which has been fine ever since. I'm only 225 now, so pushing the need for the heavy duty suspension of the RDL.

Talk to Mr Laam and see what he can do.

P.S. You know Mike rides a Super Tenere too, right? He has a '12 and a '14, or did, in different towns.
