Rode from Stecoah NC back to KY yesterday.
Took my favorite route Hwy28 along Fontana lake
One of the best views in the Smokey Mts
Then over to Hwy 129 also know as Tail of the Dragon. Not to be confused with Back of the Dragon I rode on Monday
It was 9:00am on Wednesday so no crazy stuff was going on. I only got my picture taken twice instead of the normal 5 times.
These are the type of corners that make the Dragon famous, dangerous, technical, or other descriptive words.
Back to back 180 degree turns with elevation changes, camber change between the turns, no shoulder, with water running across the road. Probably some gravel there to.
From here I went thru Crossville Tn and stopped at another favorite spot
Sargent Alvin C York State Historic Park.
There is a small museum, a nice park, picnic area, and the grist mill
You can also get a sticker
By this time it was 90 degrees F so no more stopping until home.

I had a ride out there last September, I ended up on the coast road through Aberdovey towards Towyn. Great roads.

Two old geeks on a trip to the Swedish east coast.
Beautiful archipelago and an old "fortress" with hidden canons point east.
Cold war posting, now dismantled, pointing toward the "evil Ivan"-
Old light house, now a tourist rental place.
Stumbled upon an old GMC panel van. How cool is that!
Small fishing village turned into a tourist trap but still very picturesque

5 AM and only the undersigned out jogging. Can it be more peaceful?

Today about 180 miles around trip with highs in the 90s. Man I was beat and dropped the st before some trails. Well some say you NEED engines guards and the plastic guards did just fine. Although my air horn didnt quite make it.
