Headed north from home through the mid north of the state and tonight I’m in the town of Hawker in the Flinders Ranges. Silo art is a big thing here in parts of Australia. Rode my first dirt and gravel on the S10 today and was impressed with how much confidence it gives me in those conditions. I’ve ridden a lot of gravel roads on road bikes in the past.

There were plenty of Mountain-Goats enjoying the cool temps near the Summit, and lots of baby Goats.

This one had a radio-collar.

After the Ride back down the Mountain, we had an excellent lunch at "Smokin' Yard's BBQ" in Idaho Springs.
I had Burnt-Ends, a Hot-Link Sausage, and a Hazy-IPA (sorry, no pictures of the food this time)

After lunch Brad returned to their Hotel in town, while Fred and I took a "Side-Ride" up over Loveland Pass.
We looped around through Keystone, Dillon, and then back to Idaho Springs on I-70 through the Eisenhower-Johnson Tunnel.

Jealous of @SkunkWorks. I did have a good relaxing ride through Lake County along the Fox River Chain of Lakes. Lots of horse estates and lakes. Up to Burlington WI. Weather was beautiful.

Grabbed the MotoTag while I was out.

Over the last couple of days I was in the Flinders Ranges north of here. I visited a place called Blinman which was the site of a copper mine in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is South Australia's highest town, altitude wise. Town is possibly overstating it as there is a pub, a bakery and a handful of residents. Altitude is a staggering 610m (2001 ft). South Australia doesn't really do altitude. Popular with the 4wd crowd and geologists as the landscape is made of very old rocks. Australia sits entirely on a tectonic plate with no areas of uplift or subduction.

There had been quite a bit of rain over the previous couple of weeks which made the landscape unusually green. Its normally very arid. There are numerous of floodways where ephemeral creeks flow across the road but it takes a lot of rain or a thunderstorm to get them flowing. the posts show the depth of water so you can judge when its best to drive through.
A very cold and wet ride home yesterday. Temperature barely got above 10º C (50º F).

170 mile round trip to North Weald airfield in Essex, to meet up with some mates for a catch up and some unhealthy food. Aircraft are not my thing, but I’m sure someone will recognise the plane in the background. I did hear Dakota mentioned, but not sure if in regards to this plane.
