Big farkle day, I spent an entire 30 seconds adding fork seals. Now I'm going to go ride a couple of hours and play in the sand.

Installed Jaxon's long brake and clutch lines. Other than smashing my thumb, the job went well. Very little room to get at the fittings. Make sure your patience is good before starting this job! Quality of the lines is first class. Very impressed!

Very nice! If I could legally own more than one bike, I would get something similar. It would be a close call between an
RZ-1, TZR250, or NSR250...maybe all three and throw in a TDR250 for good measure. 8)

Per the manual, 3.59 US quarts (3.40 L) ... make sure you measure correctly and put in every drop, and dont be fooled by the site glass - this is a dry sump setup http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_sump

I was going to ask about the dry sump in this bike .
You have answered my question with that link, I think I understand now .
I measured mine when i changed it and the glass looks different depending on where I am when checking,
I might be relying on that oil light just a bit more than Im used to

Marked off another 450 mile day of riding. I'm in Johnson City, TN now and at the half way point of my 8000 mile trip.

Can anyone lend any knowledge about heat wrapping the pipes? I haven't seen many if any adv bikes with the pipes wrapped.

What are you trying to achieve with the heat wrap. I think it might be a pain to maintain on a bike that sees a bit of foul weather and mud/dirt. Usually wrap is used to improve exhaust gas velocity by holding heat within the exhaust system. ::017::

I did my own version of the "seat leveling mod". I ordered three of the Yamaha Raider pads from the other threads, and drilled the tab to mount the extra one. I had to notch the rib that runs down the middle so the drill bit (7/16th, IIRC) would drill nicely. I used a die grinder for the notching. I cleaned it up a bit better after the photos, it looks pretty factory and the seat is flat, now.

I put that third one on the underside of the metal tab... essentially the same place, just on the bike not the seat. Works nice, doesn't it.

Yes, That would do the same thing and probably be easier to drill. As it was, I put a piece of flat stock under the tab or I surely would have drilled into the foam of the seat when I punched through. Your version eliminates that risk.
