Well color me envious. I'm thinking of the Russell myself. I'm also in eastern NC (New Bern) so where are you? I'd like to see it when you get in on the bike. If your size and weight aren't too far from mine, I can get an idea how it feels. I'm 6'1" and about 212 lb.

I mounted my city tank-bag. Very nice tank bag and perfect size for me! It was not as easy to mount as I thought it was going to be but over all going to be 10 times better than a magnet or strap on tank bag. ::008::

I used the T for Training during the break in. I swear I was good! O:) No sustained high rpms.... really! >:D

Honestly, I switched to T for the first time since break in today. I was wondering if it would really give me better mpg, but then I had to pass a car on the twisty canyon road to the house..., so back into S mode it went! :D :D

The adjustments you made to my stock suspension was a big plus. I am interested the performance difference with the new fork springs.
You need to come ride mine then! Might as well see what I am doing in progression, too.

Had to go to Indy and work the SuperBowl. Those 4 days are the longest I have ever gone without riding the Blue Beast, since I got her.

The weather was stunningly perfect today. So I turned off TCS and put her in S mode and let the reins out during the commute to work and back. Lots of roll on wheelies today. Amazingly easy now with the panniers and tail bag! Even with the K60's.

Gotta be honest, ......I know her wings are clipped in the low gears.....But this is NOT my hooligan bike. It has a dang drive shaft, for crying out loud. Even as understressed as they have her, she can lift her bow with ease.

I'm so hooked.

Ordered Gerbings Heated Jackets, Gloves for Ben and a couple of controlers today. With highes of 0 degrees and a ride to Waterloo in Belgium at the end of the month, I need to know the little lad is all tucked up and warm. He never tells me when he is getting cold which is a major issue. He hates letting me down when we're out on Mr. T so it just had to be done.

So Adventure Bike Store opening this weekend, Ace Cafe Next weekend and Waterloo the weekend after................ ::021:: ::008:: ::008:: ::008:: Looks like it's going to be a busy month after all.............. ::008::

i fitted my screen today, ive still got the stock bracket, my screen looks to be lower than yours, but its still higher than stock screen. this means i wont get so much wind underneath it ::008:: but more protection at the top. im going to leave the stock bracket on mine and if its ok im not going down the touratech road on the bracket. looks cool though 8)
Good call, Reason I went with the TT Screen mount is I wanted the Sat Nav mounted straight ahead. It works really well there. I had it monuted between the bars on the FJR and had to look down every now and again that is now no longer the case it is always in direct eye line. I do also have the screen mounted quite high as I spend a fair bit of time on motorways and find the extra hight takes all the buffeting over my head. ::008::

Look forward to seeing your bike in the flesh one of these fine days. Looks like the UK Possey is gathering momentum ::015::

Hmmm! Didn't do anything TO the bike today but did something FOR it by picking up these items from the post office 8)

Electrific tank ring adapters

Bags Connection 'City' quick release tang bag

The mighty Diapasion reflashed ECU

Not pictured are the double 12v socket and SAE connectors for inside the bag. Sure wish I could hasten the arrival of Spring. O0

Nice bit of kit. Minus the re-flashed ECU, I have those items on my S1- too. A word of caution on the powered tank bag. If you connect direct to the battery, it can easily drain the battery flat, even if you don't have anything powered up that is powered from the tank bag power. I pull the bag off the bike when parked in the garage now. And I switched the power to the PC-8 so it's no longer hot all the time, but switched power.

I'm torn between the Madd-Stadd mount and the TT one. The TT places the cross bar higher, which appeals to me for your stated reasons. Got a pic of your TT set up with the Sat Nav in place? I'd love to see a shot from the rider's point of view. ::014::

This was taken with the camera infront of my face.........

Taken 2 minutes ago ::008::

I have removed the "PLASTIC" fasterners from the adjustable screen because no matter how tight I sccrewed them the dan thing still tipped towards me on the Autobahn at over 70mph (In Germany so legal to do so 140kpm) ::008::

Bolts are cool looking!

I decided to make some 1-1/4" risers. Had some 3/4" thick 6061. Used the little mill to drill and mill to size and shape, then cut out with the trusty hacksaw (whew that was a lot of sawing). Hit them with the belt sander, grabbed some longer bolts, done. Only took me about 5 hours, LOL. I may be slow but they are done.

Can't get a caliper on nothing but the spring OD, which is. .520" . The length is just shy of 8" (maybe 7-7/8") with one mark past normal preload. Coil OD is about 3.225" and 7 or 8 coils if you count the base as one. I will go put those numbers in the calculator and see what weight it comes up with. I would guessimate the ID of the spring to be 2.185" or 57mm.

Update: By those numbers and using 7.5 active coils, I get 692 lbs/in or 122.8N/mm.
My reference is: http://www.pontiacracing.net/js_coil_spring_rate.htm

Update 2: I keep forgetting that they actually put this info in the service manual. LOL
