Thunderstorms today so garage beckoned for some S10 loving.
Had already installed luggage thanks to Warnabrother, but a few things still annoyed me.
The right heel protector sticks out too far, the clutch lever is too far out, the handle bars were too far forward after rotating them to get a better angle for my wrists, and the plastic skid plate was a joke.
So I installed levers, skid plate & heel protectors and bar risers.
The levers, I have to say, are a jewel and the 6 point lever adjustment can be done on the move. I went for the shorty levers.
All were installed with no problems.

I looked at it (the Tenere) as I put the snowblower back in the garage...for the 2nd time today. Looked at it again when I put my skis back in the garage later on. Kinda wish I hadn't sold the sidecar bike. Could have gone out & spun circles in the road. Oh well.

I know the feeling. I walk by Sten at least once per weekday and check that the green lights are still lit on the Optimate batt charger. ::018:: Good times!

Whirlwind over the last two days!!!

Yesterday, I got off duty at the firehouse, rode home and hung out with the wife and daughter for a couple hours. Hopped on the scoot and shot down to San Francisco to have coffee with a fellow firefighter, great friend, and fellow riding buddy who was on duty in the city. On the way there, I stopped at the Marin Headlands to enjoy the view....

That's Alcatraz on the island in the background.

This is the road up to the Headlands. Real nice except for the 25 mph speed limit.

I knew rain was coming but I did a great job of being in front of it most of the time. I love the Doppler radar on my Zumo 665. Spent some quality time talking fire, coffee, motorcycle trips, bikes, etc. and then headed back to home. It was raining but it's only water and the Super inspires confidence. I got back in front of the rain in Fairfield and then got back in to it as I reentered Sacramento. Got home, hosed off the crud (lots of residue from the first rain crap picked up off the roadway), wiped off the windscreen and mirrors and, BBBRRRRIIIINNNNGGGGGGG, the phone rings. It is work and I am being called in as we are sending a strike team to Reno due to the fires that are being shipped up with the wind. I shoot to work within 10 minutes and am now playing back fill for the team that went out. 5 hours later, strike team canceled and I'm home.

Flash forward to today and I'm back in to work (raining like a son of a gun so I came in with the car) after playing all day with my daughter and hanging out with my wife. Running errands, playing, hanging out, playing, you get the picture. So, in between the calls for service I finally placed the order for my Touratech Zega Pro side cases. I am going with the 31/38 silver anodized to match my top case. Went with the 31/38 so that my cases do not extend past my handlebar width. Since I do split lanes, that is important to me.

WooHoo!! One more major off the list. All that is left now is the suspension. Oh, got an email from James at Super Plush to let me know my springs have shipped and are due in on the 25th. Looks like another trip to San Francisco is in order within the next week or so!!!!!

I have to say that this has been one heck of a good last two days!!

I was about to say that Zega top case has been looking kinda lonely. ::018:: If I decide to get the Zega Pros (they're on the short list for cases), I still have make a color choice, but am leaning towards black at present.

Those pic's bring back memories. I havent been in that area on a motorcycle, but we used to take aerial photos of the P-3 Orion flying next to the Golden Gate for squadron photos...absolutely stunning scenery on a clear day! Lots of fun because we normally proceeded VFR, due regard over the Sausalito Peninsula as part of the pattern.

Installed Madstad and Caribou 40 ltr side cases this week. My those are big cases. Wife said "You paid how much for those? They look like big plastic suitcases!" Told her she should be glad I didn't spring for the expensive aluminum cases ::025:: :-[

Side wind deflectors on order.

Needful things:
Throttle lock or cruise control.
Engine guards/bash plate
Fuse block
Maybe Rox

Just getting started ???

hard wired my Garmin with the help of Maddog 5150.
Since the PC-8 has unswitched outputs, was there any special reason for hard wiring the Garmin?

Added my Waspworks Decals today. (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=708540) It's more difficult than his video shows and at times I was a bit nervous trying to get all the kinks and bubbles out. The decals were $90.00US so no room for error. Trying to get them lined up straight is difficult mostly around the Yamaha badge. I got it done w/ no problems though. It took me a couple hours. One thing, the shampoo in the spray bottle is a must otherwise the decals wont slip around and even though you spry on water they try to stick w/o the soap/shampoo.
You will see in the pics I removed the Yellow stock Tenere stickers. I heated them w/ a hir dryer and they pulled off. I was able to remove excess adhesive w/ a product called GooGone which I picked up at an office supply store.

I was referring to your post, where a couple coats of yellow would help both the blue and raven colors!

In general, I am surprised we haven't seen someone here in the states paint theirs white yet! Maybe I should've went white instead of Yellow? Ohh noo, me likey the satin yeller!

Later!
