Having looked at the screen, I figured that I couldn’t be bothered trying to send it back and go through the wait for another, so I got some thin aluminium and covered it with some thick heat shrink after bending it to match the profile of the screen.
I haven’t ridden with it yet although the rails aren’t in my line of sight and I think it should work OK.

yep, they sent you a 2014 onwards gen 2 screen

Ah well…. Considering the cost of return postage, I’ll stick with it.
Considering how people on this forum say that the next release of the ST is the finished product, I may well upgrade in the future and just take the screen across

This whole thread is kind of ironic, its a Yamaha Super Tenere, what is there to do to a Yamaha Super Tenere, other then ride ride ride ride. Essentially nothing LOL.
I put her away wet and dirty, just the way she likes it for the winter.
BTW, yesterday I put the battery on charge, that is what I did to my "Tenere today".

I didn't just do this it was a couple months ago or longer. I reduced the return spring tension on the throttle for the second time in the years i have owned this bike. I loosened the spring years ago. A while back i was under the hood and decided i would loosen it again. It is so much better. there have been a few mornings this fall and winter the temperatures were in the teens. I can wear my heavier gloves and not have to really grip the throttle to keep it open. I can more or less just lay my hand on it and keep my fingers loose for good blood flow. hands and fingers nice and warm and the throttle still snaps back beautifully. I like it!

Went for a ride today with the new (wrong) screen in place. Works like a dream. No need to try AB’s swap it over.
Bit of highway speed- bit of dirt- some rain…
All good

Really hate that I like/relate to this so much.

We don’t have the issue of sitting them up for the winter. Ride all year ’round. Bloody hot here at the moment (not Texas hot though) and quite a few storms at the moment as well.
Riding year round is one of the great benefits of living in Florida but it does get uncomfortable in the hot/humid summer especially with all my riding gear on.

Yeah, we still have that week or two of snow or ice ahead, but a week after it gets here, it'll be gone and riding weather again. I thought that y'all got crazy hot out there. Or is that just the desert?

It does get stupidly hot out west and up north but not so much where I am. Had a few days recently where it was nearing 100F but not quite over it except for a few places that get to 113-115F (converted for your benefit )

The dry, western areas are easier to tolerate the heat than the coastal areas that feel like you’re trying to breathe solid humidity.

Darwin, in the Northern Territory only has 2 seasons during the year. Wet and dry. Stupidly hot in winter but no rain. Even hotter in summer with big storms mid afternoon to return to horrendous humidity. Formal wear there is shorts and matching thongs.

The weather equivalent is the Tropic of Capricorn that runs through Rockhampton (about 8 hours north of here) is like the Tropic of Cancer that runs through mid Mexico.
