Look closer…
That’s about 1 small section of paint with the rest being tubes of sealant; degreasers & cleaners; lubricants; cold gal paint for after welding; & all sorts of crap.

If I were to go defacing public property like one of those clowns, I’d deserve to have all my fingers broken in the same way I’d do too one of them if I caught one

What I did to me Tenere today?
OK… not today but last week…
The thoroughly STUPID n00b thing of putting it on the centre stand while leaving the side stand down.

Those who’ve done this will know exactly what comes next when you get on it to roll it off the centre stand.

Yep… I did that…

That's how I park most of the time. But I can't get on the bike when it's on the center stand. So, when I take it off the center stand, I use the front brake to control the decent. No thunk.

Unfortunately, I was also parked on a slight incline from the footpath to the road surface & with the side stand on the upper side.
When it came off, it hit hard & threw it to the side that made it hardest to catch.

I learned to read the slope a long time ago. I always leave my side stand down when it's on the center stand. I go from side stand to center stand, back down to side stand. Just in case. But once, with the ST1300, I was on the side of the road with the side stand down. Everything was good until I opened the clamshell side case. The weight of the case lid was enough to tip the bike over onto my toes. I had misread the road camber. It looked like the bike was leaning properly to the left, but it wasn't. Almost vertical.

I have that issue now with the side stand holding the bike too high when it has a spreader plate on the foot.
I figure that, since I have an order coming from T-Rex, I’d get an adjustable length side stand as well. I couldn’t bring myself to trust one of the genetics from eBay…

Have you tried increasing the preload? It will raise the bike, and increase the kickstand angle.

I mounted a new windshield. I bought a Puig Touring windshield as the stock one gave me little to no wind protection at speed. The new shield lowered allows the airflow to hit my high mid-chest which will be great for the hot Texas summers while in the highest position, the shield is in-line with my chin. Hoping when I test ride it this coming weekend, that with it up it will give me a nice bubble without an air movement for good winter protection.

The pics are with the shield all the way up in the highest position.

I never raised the OE windshield to the high position at all last winter. But I probably have more insulation, but our "winters" aren't very wintery.

We get a week or two when its in the low 30's down here and at 80mph that doesn't take long to get chilly. I like to cover all my bases :) Plus doing a week long riding trip with 6 - 8 hour days in the saddle, good wind protection makes a big difference.
