A couple people that I've known for awhile have recently installed these, and rave about them.
My friend Cap'n Ron received a discount-code offer after purchasing his, so we used it to order one for me.
It comes as a split-cover (two covers for the different seat sections) I don't currently have the passenger seat installed, so I went ahead and installed the "Driver's" seat one.
It fits good and snug.
I'll get out this weekend and see how it feels after some seat-time.

Also washed the Bike, and picked up a couple new tires to try.
Coming home from Saturday's ride, I must've rode through something oily in the road.
I smelled something burning from time to time during the last hour. I thought maybe it was a fork seal leaking and blowing back on the exhaust?
Checked the forks and they were dry.........nothing dripping from my bike, so I continued to home.
looked underneath after I got home, and found something oily that was thrown up by the tires.
Don't remember seeing anything in the road that I might have run through, but it was right after the construction-zone in Bailey that I started smelling whiffs of something burning.

She cleaned up nice though.............Ready for more Adventure!

While looking under the bike to see if the oily stuff was not in-fact coming from my bike, I inspected the Trailmax Missions I am currently running.
These tires have around 11,000 miles on them!
I will admit I have not been easy on these tires at all...........Hard acceleration out of corners, hard-braking and engine-braking into corners.........Spinning the rear up in the gravel.......etc. The wear out of these is amazing!

I could probably get another couple thousand miles out of the rear tire, but I'm going to pull them off.
The front is only half worn, so I'm going to save that one for another run if I decide to get another Mission rear.
I'll stick the rear one in the shed for an emergency tire, or if somebody needs a tire to get them home...........etc.

I picked these up. Been wanting to try them since they were announced.

I finally had time to unpack it from my Alaska trip. Tomorrow it gets taken to a car wash. Then maintenance starts as I am heading to do the CPAAT October 15th.

Which CPAAT are you doing? Nothern or Southern route? I did from Colton Point SP to Erie last week on the Nothern. Nice ride. I did hit one section where there was a sign syaing, "Do not enter, Not the GPS route!". I didn't want to get shot at so I bypassed it on the hard road. If you happen down the MABDR wave at me when you get to Section 6 on Three Square Hollow Road. I'm 10 min from there.

Enjoy!

Doing the Northern route. Due to my son's football games we will only have three days on the trail instead of 5 or 6. We will be going East to West.

Over here they’re called Cool Covers. I’ve been using one for about 20k miles. It’s definitely a little more comfortable and doesn’t move about and it’s not slippery. Overall though, not a big improvement over the standard seat set up.

What did I do with my Tenere today?..... I got the new Dowco WeatherAll Cover on it just before the Rain started. The Bike's got no place to live under cover until I get the new Garage up; the Slab's not even completely poured yet and I'm running out of Weather! The S10 is in the foreground and that's a V-Strom 650 next to it.20230920_111615.jpg

Gummie worms to the rescue.
I had to do that the other week- but it was for a camper trailer.
Mate my myself dragged out compound bows to have a go at a target after not doing it for a while.
About 4 shots in, mate’s arrow deflects off a star picket and goes off at 45 degrees… straight into the tyre sidewall.
I patched it up with a gummy worm to be able to move the trailer but it’s no good for the road.
$300 tyre shot to sh*….

OK! Who was it that said that the T-Rex engine bars were so good???
They have 15 (was 16) in stock and I didn’t want to miss out. Also included an adjustable side stand into the order.
The $414 order (in US money) works out to $650+ in South Pacific Peso (Australian $) and that’s going through a freight forwarder which will probably be about another US$105.
If I had T-Rex send it, the postage was going to be US$515.
That’s enough to make you choke on your weet-bix!

I'm assuming that's four shots of your favorite liquor. (usually how something like this happens in Texas) :D

Yeah, but that's about half of what the same thing from Altrider would have cost.

Just had first valve check at 34k miles. Yes, a bit late, I know... All within tolerance. Also had stock suspension serviced for first time. Significant difference in smoothness of ride. Very pleased. Oil change, air filter change, tb balance and brake and clutch change to do next week when I have all the bits. Awaiting speedbleeders from US.

I’ve been using the T-Rex bars and skid plate for about 3 years now and in my opinion they have worked excellent, dropped the bike twice and the first time was a very hard drop, the mirrors and extra running lights were way out of wack but easily readjusted, nothing really damaged either time.
I’m thankful the Altrider bars were out of stock and had a 6 month waiting list when I was buying.
