I’ve had EBC HH in the front for the past 29k miles (currently 2nd set). Completely agree with WJB in post 16999 above. I have the third set ready to go in, in a month or so. Also, there’s no noticeable wear on the discs at all.

They may ‘not be needed’ but then none of it is… it works ok as it is. I just don’t want the pollution control bollocks on there. Standard can with arrow headers and a flash is my end game.

Have you done this yet? How did you get on and where did you go for the flash? Looking to do the same, got the headers, just need to decide on the flash.

I used Anthony Corcella for my flash. He is a member on this forum. He may be in the vendor section. He goes by AC something. So do a search that way or I can look and give you his phone number to text or his email.

How is your experience in the wet with the EBCs? Seems like our atmospheric river has evaporated for now and I’ve had no opportunity to test.

I had poor experiences previously with aftermarket pads on my ST1300, I think they were Galfer. So tended to stick with OEM pads on that bike and until now this one.

Same here. Don't know which EBC pads they put on the Honda, but when they got hot, they glazed over and provided ZERO stopping until they cooled off. From then on I became a strict follower of OE parts. The downside on the ST1300, was that I was going through front/rear pads every 5k miles. The upside was that they stopped very well.

Since I sent a link, maybe what I meant to say is not well understood… but since I see that this windshield support is not the OEM…..and seeing the metal part so high…..I do not want those tips to enter through under the helmet and get stuck in the throat, before the plastic support that holds the entire trunk of the motorcycle, breaks

in my experience your helmet tends to hit the screen top well before those could make contact with ya. If going offroad you will want to lower the windscreen down all the way, where those would be less prominent.

I have EBC HH sintered pads on my Goldwing, ST1300A, CBR 1100XX and yes I got a little less than with OEM but they did stop better. I usually get 50,000 miles out of stock. I'd be in the 30 to 40,000 mile range with EBC HH pads. Never had a problem with wet. They do have to seat in though and you can tell when they do.

SIERRA1,
What kind of riding were you doing to only go 5,000 miles? You must have been smelling hot brakes all 5,000 miles!

That 5,000 miles comment was someone else’s, not mine. I tend to get pretty good mileage out of brakes. On the Super Ténéré, at least 45K/front set, more like 25-30K for the rear, using OEM pads.

I know, sorry for the confusion. I was answering to people in one post. It was a reply to SIERRA1. Sometimes technology and I don't get along.

Good in all conditions. Consistent performance wet or dry and I have ridden many miles in both conditions. They really work well on the Super Tenere, no fade and as you said, increasing reward for more lever action.
Most of my miles are twisty routes, with lots of mountain passes when away. I enjoy these types of road and am quite heavy on the front brakes. I’m sure a different riding style would get considerably more mileage that the 15k ish miles I get out of the fronts.

Good to hear, got out on another ride yesterday and I’m really liking these binders!

Air filter and spark plug change. I bought the bike used and it did not come with any maintenance records. So I had no idea on their condition. Here is what I found. They look like they have been in there a while so I am glad I swapped them all out. There was no evidence of water ingress in the spark plug boots. That was a nice find.

Not being too dissatisfied with OEM brake pads I switched to EBC HH fronts and OEM organic rear in addition to replacing the rotor w/OEM @20k mi. It's been my experience, regardless of topical cleaning, that the rear caliber loads with an excess of debris bordering on the excessive. It's been mentioned on this forum the importance and value of cleaning the piston and entire caliper mechanism and in my estimation they're right on.

Being my third S10 I'm shocked at the short life of the rear rotor as I ride no more hooligan on or off road than typical. Reliable like a clock that way, I am a machine. Having experienced great results with EBC (or Galfer for that matter) countless times in the past I have no illusions that there'll be increased ability and tactility. As for the few tens of miles on them currently, they're plush, predictable, and will improve.

Damn replacement intervals and recommendations and do what provides the best braking for you and your purposes.

Dropped it off for a dyno flash. After telling him everything I wanted and everything I'd done, he said he estimates the flash will really wake the bike up. He said maybe +18hp. I can't wait to see the dyno graphs now.

I'd be curious to see the before and after graphs.
I think the "18hp" figure might be a bit optimistic for these bikes, but you never know?
It might gain 18hp down lower in the rev-range without the throttle restrictions that Yamaha programmed in, but peak power numbers might only gain 4 or 5hp over stock?

Grain of salt. That's why, I too, want to see the graphs :D
