Wow it's a whole different maintenance game in UK and other wet climates. You guys are tougher than me I would own a convertible I think.
Other than the weight, a full tank will not present any problems. The disconnect coupling for the fuel has an auto shutoff.Changed the oil, and rear diff fluid.
Was going to do air filter and plugs along with weatherproofing my coils. But dummy me filled up with gas on the way home last night not thinking about lifting the tank this morning. So guess that will wait till next week or whatever.

You only need to pull up the vent hoses to tilt up the tank. I used to use a tie down to hold teh tank up; I would hook it to the rear rack and teh front lip of the tank.Good to know. Ive not had the tank up, previous owner had just done plug and filter before I bought it.
I always thought I did a decent job of cleaning and applying ACF50 to my bikes but clearly not! The frame and engine were painted when the bike was 6 months old as it flaked off (no sign of corrosion) so I'm not surprised to see some corrosion on there now. I'd considered trying a GSA to replace the S10 but I dread to think what a BMW would look like after 4yrs so I think the S10 will stay and I'll spend some time on deeping cleaning and painting it, besides, I always get a big grin on my face when I ride and that's all the matters!Yoyo...my drive shaft was the same. The UK is harder on bikes than any other country as it seems the most posts I have read on corrosion from multiple mc forums seem to come from the UK.
Glad to see another Pearl White '13!I put the beast on the road after a winter's nap. It started like I had ridden it the previous day! Before I put it to bed in November, I filled the tank with Chevron 94, (no ethanol), and put in some fuel stabilizer. Once a month or so I would throw the battery on the trickle charger. With this plague thing going on, here in Victoria, BC. one has to insure vehicles over the phone. That requires a phone, computer, and printer, which I know most people have, but not everybody has. Once that is done, you have to wait for them to send you the new decals for your plate, but you can still ride. I made my own temporary sticker up so I won't get hassled by the local 5-0 (hopefully), and well meaning citizens.
