I left home at 4 AM and was back by 10:30 PM. I don't the title for the ride is any different. These days it's called a SaddleSore 1000. You can do a BunBurner 1500 which must be completed in 36 hours.

;-) Paul
You can apply for "In State Saddle Sore" rides if the entire ride is inside the same state. The certificate is different, artwork is unique for every state, same for pins and patches that you can opt to buy with the certificate. (you can pay a smaller fee if you just want the certificate) The cost is the same for an In State or normal SS1K ride. I don't know if you will automatically get an In State cert if you did it in one state w/o asking for it when you submit your paperwork. You can do In State Bun Burner or Bun Burner Gold rides too, IIRC.

FWIW, if you have a ride that is in state, but you went out of the state briefly, that's ok, you just can't count the miles out of state.

today I enjoyed my 162nd riding day of this year, 2015,
matching last years total number of riding days...
44.38 per cent of the year.

tomorrow I will surpass last year, but not even close in mileage...
I blame the dollar exchange rate, no excursions to the U.S. this year.

I need to move south and get paid in U.S. Dollars.....

Rode it back from my daughters house in Pen Yan. First ride on a two lane, moonless night, watching for deer. Thought the lighting was great. The high beams worked nicely lighting up the sides of the road. We have lots of deer and I always am looking for the eyes at night. Then when I got home, I ordered a set of Jesse 10" odyssey II in charcoal. It should match pretty well with the matte gray bike. No to just keep my wife from putting Vera Bradley stickers on them! Pics to follow.

Finally installed my heated grips in preparation for fall. Work great and easy install thanks to those of you on this board. Especially super10nj and Tupperware who provided the part numbers and instructions. Stadium Yamaha shipped them quick and my hands are toasty.

I did the 8,000 mile oil change and the tracking number shows that tomorrow my refoamed and recovered seat pans will be back from Seat Concepts in time to ride Saturday.

If your experience is anything like mine, Seat Concepts will be a noticeable improvement for you. Let us know what you think, and enjoy!

Performed a 24K service last weekend. Oil/Filter, final drive fluid change, clean and repack steering bearings.
It was my first time doing the steering bearings on this bike (I know, way past due) and they still had a bunch of the factory grease .
Shifting was getting a little hard so I re-greased the shifter pivot and it is smooth once again.
I found one loose spoke on the rear that I snugged down. This is the second time I have found loose spokes. The last was back in June when I was mounting a set of TKC70s. I found 3 loose spokes at that time.
Riding down to TN later this month for my fall camp out.
Bike has been flawless.

Saw how terrible the resale value is on the bike. So I got to work test fitting my GPS and figuring out what it would take to do the 2016 yellow paint scheme to it.

Looks like my next bike or two won't be tourers and the ole girl has several more seasons to go.

Changed the tires (8500 miles) today for a set of K-60's, not hard to spoon on at all. Used my new set of "Bead pro" dead breaker tools. worked like a charm. I do have a question, did Yamaha spend all thier money on technical stuff for the bike and could not afford grease on the axles or final drive splines? Very odd. ::021::

First time in 7 weeks I have been able to ride, due to foot surgery. 300 miles, including Ortega Hwy, Fallbrook, Palomar mountain, and some of the area's to the east. Just stayed off any dirt for now. Paid a little price with some swelling, but was worth it.

Took my 13 year old son on the passenger seat 140 miles to the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival - and back. Had a great time and he was pretty comfortable.

Shame about the clouds. Can you ride all the way to the summit? I have to put that on my 'To Do' list. ;-)
Right at the end, there's a little bit rougher spot down and back up again to a view point. Can't be more than a couple hundred yards at most. I didn't try it because I was solo and wasn't going to see anything anyway. The rest of it is mostly just a two track road/trail with less than a km of rocks to go over. My Tenere had all the luggage etc on and I didn't feel like I was pushing my luck too much. I'm going back on a clearer day to try again for that view. Maybe today.

Did you install it yourself? If yes how difficult was it?
