Confirmed what I saw someone post in a thread around here in the last few weeks. Put my wife's OEM lower seat on the 2015 ES. She was able to get as much foot on the ground as she can on her 2012 Tenere which has been lowered 1". Went back and forth a few times. I wouldn't have guessed it. Didn't notice it myself. Would not have tried it if someone didn't post it about the new bike being lower, but it's true.

One more cut in the death by a thousand cuts of this bike remaining mine.
Stop! I want cruise control so badly I can taste it and confirming it sits lower is another checkmark.

Same ground clearance? Is the seat profile lower somehow?
Definitely not the seat. We were switching the same seat between the two bikes. Not sure about the ground clearance.

Fitted my Gipro-X gear indicator to my 2011 bike. Managed to guess the blue wire to tap under the seat correctly first time. On my bike, there are two identical blue wires in the bundle, although this is not shown on the circuit drawing. Set up and now working just fine.

Hey all... Last week I made the jump from a DR650 to a new leftover '12. Doing more longer distance rides and the DR was just a bit taxing to body. Told my riding mates an S10 in was just too big for me but all it took was an 8 mile ride on the street and a bit of gravel. Looking forward to the farkling.

Took a ride to the pines in near by Payson Arizona from Mesa. I just replaced my rear K60 after 10k miles. I really pushed it through the turns this time and have come to the conclusion the K60's are, overall, an incredible tire, but they are not great per se for cornering on asphalt highways. I need to roll off the throttle a bit and quit thinking I am racing and enjoy the ride.

How are you liking that California Scientific windshield? That thing is huge! I have the medium sized one and don't know how I feel about it. Mine whistles at speeds over 40 MPH and is kind of annoying. The air flow behind the shield is great though!

The whistle most likely comes from the headlight bezel. A forum rider found and corrected his. There is a thread with photos.

CalSci is local to me I am not a big fan of the windshields but that is a personal thing. A couple friends have the windshields and seem to like them.

This one is actually a Parabellum in XL and I like it. I can go 60 mph with the visor up. Wind noise greatly reduced and it doesn't vibrate more than the short stock shield

Installed a tall windshield, Winglets (do these things work? or is this a theory based product? They were inexpensive so I bought them with the tall shield), OEM Grip heaters, and my Givi top plate will be here tomorrow so I can mount my trekker 52 on it. (with OEM Side cases lol... i'll be taking that thing on/off frequently...) I also got a back pad for the Trekker so my wife will have something to lean against on long trips. Now I need to find a more comfortable seat for her as well.

Had fun this weekend!

installed the mastech headlight guard and skid plate as well as the Givi engine bars, touratech sidestand foot and adjustable windshield mount as well as removed the back seat. Have the Carribou rack and cases coming in in the next day or so so more fun to come!
